Emmy 2019 Winners…and yes Game of Thrones won Best Drama

Game of Thrones took home the biggest award of the night by winning the best drama award, but unfortunately lost in almost every other category it was nominated in drama-wise. This tells me the best drama win was only a farewell gift for the beloved series, and not a well-deserved one.

Winners from this year are more from a diverse number of shows than a particular TV show raking all the available awards home which shows how competitive TV has become in the era of Peak TV. There was always something to go round for everyone. Even losing must have been hard for those who went home with nothing, as every TV show deserved to be up there.

Nevertheless, HBO took home the most awards of the night with big wins by Game of Thrones (mostly in the creative categories) and Chernobyl, Prime Video shone through Fleabag. Returning shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry in the comedy category won major honors again.

Main title design category was scooped by Game of Thrones which I recently found out that it is not only about the graphics of the title design, but the opening title design sequence for a TV show.
