One Punch Man is Getting a Hollywood Film Adaptation, Hunger Games Prequel in The Works, New Tenet Images Released, New Trailer for Ryan Murphy’s Netflix ‘HOLLYWOOD’ Series…

Popular Manga series, One Punch Man, is being developed into a live-action feature film by Sony. According to Variety, Venom writers, Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are attached to write the live action project after finding success with Venom and the rebooted Jumanji franchise for Sony. One Punch Man tells the story of Saitama, a strong superhero who defeats villains with just a single punch. Over time, however, he grows bored with the absence of a challenging fight. As it is still in early development stage, there are still various twists and turns that the project could face during this ‘hollywood-ifying’ process. Who do you see playing this character on screen?

As the current health situation has halted production all over the world, studios are not taking time off, rather announcing new(?) projects to make the light at the end of this tunnel shine brighter. At the end of all this, we should all be expecting a Hunger Games prequel, that would be based on the author’s upcoming book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The book and movie that follows would focus on the young life of the the president of Panem. According to Vanity Fair, the same director, Francis Lawrence, who took charge of the final three films in the franchise is excited to be back working on this prequel. The series spun over four movies annually between 2012 and 2015. We all remember Hunger Games, don’t we? Jennifer Lawrence’s innocence? Katniss? Starting to come back, right?

Still talking about upcoming movies, new images have been released for Christopher Nolan’s Sci-Fi movie, TENET. This is still one of the movies that has not been given a new date and still slated for a summer release despite the current situation. With very little known about the movie due to secrecy, there are multiple theories being linked to this project. With many claiming it has a connection to Nolan’s 2010 movie, Inception because of the weight of the storytelling and complexity of world-building attached to both. Synopsis reads thus: An action epic revolving around international espionage, time travel, and evolution. Possibly about a man trying to prevent World War 3 through time travel and rebirth. TENET stars Robert Pattinson, John David Washington, Michael Caine, and Elizabeth Debicki. It boasts a production budget of $205 million (one of the highest for an original story) and is set to be released on July 17. You can watch the trailer and view the new images below:

Huge competition lies ahead as NBC debuts its streaming service called Peacock (July 15) and Warner Media enters the streaming world with HBO Max (May 27). Viewing results for the major Netflix releases in the first quarter are as follows: Ozark season 3- 29m, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness- 64m, Love is Blind- 30m, Spenser Confidential- 85m and La Casa de Papel, aka Money Heist- 65m. According to Netflix’s report, this swift increase in numbers (earnings and subscribers) could come back to haunt the company when the lockdown all over the world starts getting called off. A curse or a blessing, let’s wait till the end of the second quarter.

    • I am also hopeful. Even if some forms of hygiene measurement has to be observed, Cinemas should be open by July.
