Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton Head Ensemble Of Ron Howard-Directed MGM Thai Cave Rescue Pic ‘Thirteen Lives’
MGM has announced that it’s partnered with director, Ron Howard (Thirteen Lives) to bring the story of 12 boys and their football coach, who were trapped in a flooded cave in 2018, to life. They were rescued by a Navy Seal team—one of the Navy Seal, Saman Gunan, lost his life.
The star-studded cast includes, Viggo Mortensen (Green Book), Colin Farrell (In Bruges), Joel Edgerton (The Gift), Weir Sukollawat (Malila), Thiraphat Sajakul (The Serpent), Sahajak Boonthanakit (The Serpent), Vithaya Pansringarm (The Prey), Teeradon “James” Supapunpinyo (Bad Genius), Nophand Boonyai (Only God Forgives), Tom Bateman (Death on the Nile), Paul Gleeson (The Thin Red Line), and Lewis Fitz-Gerald (Pitch Black).
Principal photography will take place in both Australia and Thailand. The film will be released theatrically in the U.S. through United Artists Releasing, and worldwide through Universal Pictures International.
The ensemble will participate in telling the story of twelve boys and their football coach who were trapped in a cave in Thailand, 2018. The whole community joined hands with volunteers worldwide to rescue the victims from the Tham Luang Bang Non cave system in Chiang Rai Province. It took 18 days to rescue them. And now, their story is coming to the big screen.
Ridley Scott Exec-featured film, ‘Panopticon’, stars Shailene Woodley, Anthony Mackie & Jacob Latimore.
Ingenious director, Ridley Scott (Aliens), is involved in a new movie that stars Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Anthony Mackie (Avengers), and Jacob Latimore (The Chi). They will star in Andrés Baiz’s upcoming feature, Panopticon. Andrés Baiz was a director for the hit series, Narcos. Principal Photography will commence in New Mexico from July. The film’s script has been written by Emily Jerome.
In Panopticon, Shailene Woodley’s character, Chase, a young Wall Street trader who chances upon an investment opportunity in PCC Correctional, a private prison group racking up huge profits. She then uncovers a nefarious underground operation. rife with violence and malfeasance. Now she must choose between profiting from an unprecedented career opportunity and doing the right thing.
AGC Studios is fully financing and producing with Scott Free Productions. Tom Moran and Vera Meyer are shepherding the project with Kevin Walsh producing for Scott Free alongside screenwriter Jerome and AGC Studios’ Ford and Head of Production Linda McDonough.
