This is another heart-tugging drama from director Biodun Stephen, exposing the realities of gender-based violence in our society. The film stars Toni Tones, Kate Henshaw, Bimbo Akintola, Daniel Etim Effiong and Debby Felix as they tell the story of Jane Douglas who fights for change alongside a determined team despite adversity and ignites hope. Deafening Silence will be in cinemas.

Muri and Ko

It’s Kunle Remi and Bisola Aiyeola, It’s Biodun Stephen, it’s Muri and Ko!!!

Join the train for this comedy-drama film at the cinemas as Muri (Kunle Remi), a Lagos street hustler’s life takes a dramatic turn when he steals a car, unknowingly with a child inside and has to face a heart-wrenching choice: ensure the child’s safe return or face the consequences.

Loot and The Lost Kingdom

Loot and the Lost Kingdom delves into the story of Africa’s stolen artifacts, with a focus on Nigeria and does a deep dive into the hidden narrative behind these cultural treasures, exposing the extensive plundering, and loss of knowledge systems, culture, spirituality, and science suffered by African societies. By filmmakers BB Shashore, Gbemi Shashore and Olasupo Shashore, the documentary will be available on Netflix.

Acting heavyweights Kehinde Bankole and Kelechi Udegbe lead this high-stake crime drama about a newly appointed Director for the Nigerian Drug Agency (NDA) as she goes on a war against a drug cartel, revealing unexpected family secrets in the process. Directed by T. Steve Aveny, this gritty drama also stars Ibrahim Suleiman, Gregory Ojefua, Bimbo Manuel and David Jones David. Offshoot will be in cinemas.

Lakatabu

Trying to step into the world of power, tale and enmity? Then head to the cinemas to watch another Odunlade Adekola indigenous film. Lakatabu stars Adedimeji Lateef, Adunni Ade, Yomi Fash Lanso, Femi Adebayo amongst others.

Beyond the Veil S2

After ending on a cliffhanger last season, the much anticipated fan-favourite returns with a bang for a second season.  

The series, following a group of five northern women, is back on Prime Video with the regular cast alongside some new faces. Beyond the Veil is directed by Nadine Ibrahim and stars Jemima Osunde, Maryam Booth, Norah Ego, Ame Aiyejina and Ummi Baba Ahmed.

Oloture: The Journey

Following the success of the first film, the story continues in this sequel series. Oloture, still working undercover as a sex worker, battles for survival as she strives to reach Europe. Directed by Kenneth Gyang, the Netflix series stars Sharon Ooja, Omoni Oboli, Beverley Osu, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Bukola Oladipupo, Daniel Etim Effiong, and Patrick Doyle, all reprising their original roles. They are joined by Stan Nze and Amarachukwu Onoh. 

Savage Beauty S2

Hitman also stars Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio and Retta.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are bringing it hot to the cinemas for the fourth installment of the iconic Bad Boys franchise. In this action comedy, buddy-cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett set out to investigate corruption within the Miami PD after their late Captain is accused of being involved with the Romanian Mafia.

What do we love more than a franchise? A franchise with an ensemble cast! That’s right, so catch the fourth installment of the action film franchise, The Expendables, on Showmax this month.
