Taiwo Egunjobi has officially unveiled his next project, The Fire and The Moth, which has recently completed principal photography in Oyo state. The film marks the second co-production between Nemsia Studios and Sable Productions after their first collaboration on A Green Fever.
The Fire and The Moth, hinting at another take on characters under immense pressure, has been teased as a gritty crime drama set in a harsh western Nigerian town, where a desperate smuggler’s escape with a rare Ife bronze head sparks a violent upheaval, dragging the town into a maelstrom of corruption and brutality.
The cast of the film includes Tayo Faniran (Gangs of Lagos), Jimmy Jean-Louis (Citation), Ini Dima-Okojie (A Weekend To Forget), William Benson, Ola Rotimi Fakunle (Gangs of Lagos), and Amanda Ugoh (Kadara).
Director Egunjobi is bringing to life a script penned by frequent collaborator Isaac Ayodeji in what the director has dubbed their “most ambitious film yet”, with Fadamana Okwong credited as director of photography.
The Fire And The Moth is produced by Emiola Fagbenle, and Derin Adeyokunnu and BB Sasore serve as executive producers.
The Fire and The Moth is currently in post production.
