The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has revealed its highly anticipated nominations for the 2024 edition, marking its 20th anniversary.

Leading the pack is The Weekend with 16 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, and Achievement in Cinematography. Close behind is South Africa’s The Queenstown Kings with 15 nominations, contending for Best Film, Best Director, and Cinematography, followed by This is Lagos, Under The Hanging Tree and Out of Breath with 9 nominations each.

The announcement, hosted by Vimbai Mutinhiri, sets the stage for the awards night, which will be held on November 2, 2024.
