The 3rd edition of The Annual Film Mischief took place from the 9th to 12th of October across 3 cities, showcasing a diversity of independent cinema. Over the course of the festival, it brought together filmmakers, actors, critics, and fans together to celebrate and engage with films and conversations in the independent film space.

One of the standout screenings is Nyame Mma by Joe Wackle Kusi, which received rave reviews from the audience. Other notable films such as Oga Mike by Chukwu Martin and Ekun Iyawo by Moses Ipadeola also captivated viewers with their distinct narratives and powerful performances.

The highlight of this year’s event was the closing awards ceremony. The Grand Jury Cheese Prize was awarded to Korede Azeez’s With Difficulty Comes Ease, while Evil Spirit, Get Out by Theo-Ziny Joel took home the Best Short Film prize.

In addition to screenings, the festival hosted panels that focused on industry subjects such as challenges in the Nigerian indie Film space and Sustaining Nollywood’s Future beyond casting and contracts.

The atmosphere throughout the festival was exciting with attendees praising the lineup and enjoying the opportunity to connect with other talents and industry professionals. 

TAFM continues to solidify itself as a key event for indie filmmakers in the film calendar. Organizers are already looking ahead to next year’s edition, with promises of even more exciting premieres and industry insights.
