The film follows the story of a struggling actor whose life spirals out of control when a ruthless Russian criminal blackmails him using his internet history. The stakes rise as the actor’s career and family hang in the balance. Starring O.C. Ukeje, Alessandro Babalola, Julia Holden, Natalia N, and Ivan Papovec. Blackmail heads to Prime Video.

When Loves Strikes

Directed by Adeoluwa Owu, When Love Strikes is a football-themed drama that centers around the journey of IBK, a young footballer determined to make it to the top of his career and exploring the relationships that influence his journey. Farmer’s Bride

Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’nneth Opukeme, Farmer’s Bride is set in 1980s Ibadan and weaves a tale of love and betrayal of a young woman forced into a loveless marriage with a wealthy farmer. It stars Femi Branch, Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, and Wumi Toriola and is set to hit cinemas nationwide soon.

Queen Lateefah

Wumi Toriola’s debut big screen production, Queen Lateefah begins its theatrical run this month. The film directed by Captain Degzy, features an ensemble cast including Kunle Remi, Femi Adebayo, Nancy Isime, Bimbo Manuel, Elvina Ibru, Enioluwa, and Gbubemi Ejeye.

Lisabi: The Uprising

Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, Lisabi: the Uprising tells the story of 18th-century Egba farmers’ rebellion against the Oyo Empire. The Netflix film is the first part of a 2-part film, starring Adedimeji Lateef, Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Chatta, Rose Afije and Odunlade Adekola.

BeetleJuice BeetleJuice

A sequel to Beetlejuice (1988), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a dark fantasy comedy horror film directed by Tim Burton. The story follows the Deetz family, who, after a family tragedy, return to their home in Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is further disrupted when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally reopens the portal to the Afterlife. It features returning stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara, alongside new cast members Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Jenna Ortega, and Willem Dafoe. The film will be showing in cinemas.

The Holdovers 

The Academy Award-nominated film The Holdovers arrives on Showmax this month.
