I Have An Idea Entertainment is excited to announce the release of What No One Knows official soundtrack album, ahead of the release of What No One Knows, an award-winning film with themes of cultural pressures, friendship, secrets and betrayals.
The full soundtrack of the film is now available on all major digital platforms. The album features the titular track ‘What No One Knows’ written by Leke and Layo Laguda and produced by Blaqnote, ‘Kíní Mò Sè’ written by Tope Laguda, produced by Emeka Onuoha and performed by vocal powerhouse, Olubunmy, as well as ‘Paradīsè’ (also performed by Olubunmy), ‘Heartbroken’ and ‘Love You Forever’, produced, written and arranged by the Remaker Group, led by Emeka and the euphonious Rhema Onuoha.
Every single track is special and tells the story of What No One Knows in its own unique way as the listener is taken on the WNOK journey from the beginning of the film (‘Sisters Forever’) right through to the end (‘What No One Knows’)! In addition to the instrumentals, the album also presents orchestral compositions by Emeka Onuoha. The songs and sounds transcend genre in a manner that cuts straight through to the emotions and energy of the scenes that inspired them.
The highlight of the soundtrack for some WKMUp first listeners is ‘Birth’. “The track is a mix of classical music which is beautiful and immediately flows to ‘Ki Ni Mò Se’,” Ebube shared in her first impression. “This album has revived hope.” In what is a cohesive body of work, “you will be able to tell you are in one film world and it will not feel like an interruption of the journey in the movie.”
The synopsis of the film reads: Oriyomi and Ifelolu meet as teenagers living in the same neighbourhood in Lagos. Oriyomi is an only child and an orphan, while Ifelolu is also an only child, having lost her only sibling to an undisclosed disease. They become inseparable despite an initial betrayal when Ifelolu ‘steals’ Oriyomi’s crush. Years later, Oriyomi a baker, and Ifelolu a photographer, launch a successful events management business, through which they meet their husbands. Oriyomi begins to face challenges in her marriage and Ifelolu suggests a way to help Oriyomi save it. They vow to keep their decision a secret, but their lives start to implode, as the breadth of their deceit unravels in front of them. They turn on each other; Oriyomi is convinced that Ifelolu has manipulated her. Their friendship disintegrates, and a vicious court case ensues.
What No One Knows has racked up several awards, notably Best Feature Film at the Festival International du Film Panafricain (Cannes, France), Best Indie Feature Film at the Cannes World Film Festival (Cannes, France) and the Spotlight Feature Film at the Topaz Film Festival (Dallas, United States).
