The latest project in the First Features series, At Ease, has officially wrapped shooting and is now moving into post-production.

The film is the sixth from the First Features Slate, produced by Natives Filmworks and MichelAngelo Productions as part of an initiative designed to nurture and empower new voices in Nollywood.

At Ease, tells the compelling story of Captain Agbo, a survivor of a devastating blast in Northern Nigeria, as he grapples with PTSD, the dynamics of family, and the profound emotional toll of war.

Directed by Seun Richards, the film is said to blend elements of psychological drama and family narrative to deliver a poignant and impactful story.

At Ease stars Asa’ah Samuel (AM Dust), Anee Icha (Casa De Novia), Rekiya Attah (Up North) , and Keppy Ekpenyong (Saving Onome), with a screenplay by Stephanie Dadet (AM Halita, AM Unscripted). 

The cinematography is helmed by South African talents Rangwetsane Maphike (A Father’s Love) and Mike Downie, with project supervision by Steve Gukas and Dotun Olakunri.

Steve Gukas, CEO of Natives Filmworks and one of the executive producers of First Features, shared his thoughts on the production “…Really gratifying helping the next generation of Nollywood filmmakers find their voice and tell impactful stories”. 

The first five films of the First Features Initiative are currently streaming on Prime Video, where At Ease is also expected to premiere once production is completed.
