Valentine’s isn’t over, is it?

Two characters coming together to form an on-screen couple is one of the best things about watching movies. Their love story might inspire you to give love a chance or break down that barrier because love is not an easy ride. Just as you will never forget your first love, we’ll also never forget the amazing TV couples that made our hearts flutter and etched a lasting impression on us.

My previous listicle was about the most memorable on-screen breakups. I am so sorry for bringing back TV and film memories you probably wanted to forget. Heartbreak is a process, you will definitely get over it— yes, you! The feeling of being alone and apart from him or her might be unbearable at first but it will pass. So, if you are going through a heartbreak, some on-screen couples could make you feel better. It won’t solve the problem, but it should help.

Here is a list of the most memorable on-screen couples:

Edward and Vivian- Pretty Woman

A Picture of Edward and Vivian

The chemistry between Edward (Richard Gere) and Vivian (Julia Roberts) is iconic. They are one of the most memorable on-screen couples in decades. For someone like Edward who wanted to keep their relationship casual and seemed uninterested in anything that would lead to a romantic relationship, it took Vivian’s charming smile and nervy attitude to break the wall surrounding his heart. It is a modern Cinderella and Prince Charming story, just that Vivian was a prostitute and she never lost her shoe.

Jack and Rose- Titanic

The brief but burning encounter between Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet) is the definition of golden. They fell for each other really fast (a love at first sight kinda thing🥰) and it was ridiculously sweet. Do you think Jack could have fit on that plank? 🤔

Damon and Elena- Vampire Diaries

Delena fans were definitely happy with how things turned out for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev). I can never forget Damon and Elena’s last dance on the road where they first met in season 6. It was such a beautiful moment, filled with tears and a kiss. Elena fell with the man beneath the bloodsucking facade. I would still have preferred Stefan though.

John and Jane- Mr. and Mrs. Smith

The movie that brought us “Brangelina”. It is a story about a bored married couple, John (Brad Pitt) who works in construction and Jane (Angelina Jolie), a system analyst. Unbeknown to them, they are both contract killers, each belonging to competing agencies. The drama starts when their next hit job is to kill each other😅.

Augustus and Hazel- The Fault in Our Stars

A heartbreaking story of a cancer-stricken couple, Augustus (Ansel Elgort) and Hazel (Shailene Woodley). Though their relationship was short lived, their love story is one of the truest and most extraordinary of our generation. But then, you get to decide that for yourself, okay?

Guzman and Nadia- Elite

Image via Netflix

Elite is one of the craziest teen  movies I have ever seen. However, amidst all the craziness, Nadia (Mina El Hammani) and Guzman’s (Miguel Bernardeau) relationship stands out. Right from the day they first met, there has always been this deep attraction between them, but Guzman’s girlfriend, Lu (Danna Paola) and Nadia’s religion was a strong barrier between them. Also, Nadia’s parents would never approve of their relationship since they are Muslims and Guzman is not. It is a bad boy trying to corrupt a good girl kind of situation. Trust me, it is worth the watch.

William and Anna- Notting Hill

Love sparks when a Hollywood movie star, Anna (played by Julia Roberts “you just can’t get over her charming smile and incredible acting”), meets a bookshop owner, William (Hugh Grant), in London. My heart flutters even as I am typing this. It is such a beautiful movie, a must watch.

Ri Jung Hyuk and Yoon Se-Ri- Crash Landing on You

If you are a fan of K-drama, you definitely need to watch this movie. This is one of the best romantic Korean series I have ever seen. A love between a North Korean Soldier (played by Hyun Bin) and a South Korean chaebol woman (played by Son Ye-Jin), who entered a demilitarized zone in North Korea due to a paragliding accident. The chemistry between both actors was really strong that they made the series fun and emotional to watch. And guess what? Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin confirmed after the show that they were dating.

Peter and Lara Jean- To all the Boys

Peter (Noah Centineo) and Lara Jean (Lana Condor) make a really beautiful on-screen couple. Even though the ending of the sequels were predictable, we really can’t overlook the chemistry between the two actors. In 2018, writing love letters made a comeback when the first part of this trilogy premiered. Write that love letter to him/her, you might just be lucky😉, and good luck finding a love sweeter than Peter’s love  for Lara Jean.

Jamal and Latika- Slumdog Millionaire

A movie that bagged more than eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Slumdog millionaire is a story about lost love, loyalty, perseverance and fate. It offers one of the most captivating moments to ever unfold on-screen. Jamal (Dev Patel) and Latika (Freida Pinto) gave viewers a story that showed that love conquers all.

Noah and Allie- The Notebook

Ah Yes! I almost forgot about these two lovebirds. Noah (Ryan Gosling) and Allie (Rachel McAdams) brought so much love to the world of romance. They are one of the greatest  couples to ever grace our screens. Despite Allie’s parents’ interference and class disparity that almost tore them apart, they still found a way to overcome the unfavourable circumstances. They fought for their love and came out victorious. I guess there’s no hardship that enough love can’t conquer.

Did one of your favourite couples make the cut? Which memorable couple(s) will you add to the list?

Share.
