Her Perfect Life and Iyawo Mi

Mo Abudu’s directorial debut, featuring two short films, Her Perfect Life and Iyawo Mi, is set to premiere on Apple TV this month. Her Perfect Life stars Pearl Thusi, Joseph Benjamin, and Omowunmi Dada, and tells the story of Onajide Ibrahim, a 39-year-old woman who seemingly has it all—a successful career, a thriving small business, a loving family—but is struggling with a desire to end her life despite her accomplishments.

The second film, Iyawo Mi, unfolds in a gritty Lagos neighborhood, where a young man (Lateef Adedimeji) returns home one evening to find his wife (Bolaji Ogunmola) in the throes of an intense mental breakdown. It also stars Blessing Jessica Obasi-Nze

November 8

Domitilla

The reboot of the Nollywood classic Domitilla reimagines the original 1996 film with fresh faces and a new storyline, directed by Kayode Kasum. The story centers on Domitilla and her friends, Judith and Jenny, who lead risky lives as street hawkers. When Domitilla crosses paths with a prominent politician, her fortunes shift as he takes her on as his mistress. However, her newfound lifestyle unravels when the politician is discovered dead in a hotel room, upending her world. The film, originally released in cinemas in 2023, stars Teniola Aladese, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Elvina Ibru, Deyemi Okanlawon, Stan Nze, Ejiro Onojaife, and Onyinye Odokoro.   Coming to Netflix screens across Africa.

Umjolo: The Gone Girl

In her feature directorial debut, Fikile Mogodi brings UMJOLO: The Gone Girl, a drama about love, identity, and life-altering discoveries. The film follows a young woman who, after getting engaged to her ideal boyfriend, faces a life-changing revelation during a routine doctor’s appointment. It stars Gugu Gumede,Tyson Mathonsi, Ntando Menzi Ncube, Thobeka Shangase, and Shezi Sibongiseni, Umjolo premieres on Netflix.

Family Gbese

From the stables of Inkblot Productions comes a Uzor Arukwe led drama-comedy directed  by Michelle Bello (Flower Girl). The film tells the story of Nnamdi Nwagba,whose perfect life is disrupted by a daunting request from his mentor. As he grapples with the decision, Nnamdi must confront the true meaning of loyalty, family, and success. It features Mike Ezuruonye, Teniola Aladese, Lillian Afegbai, Sandra Okunzuwa, Genovevah Umeh, Ireti Doyle, Susan Peters, Niyi Johnson, Muyiwa Ademola, Faithia Balogun and Yemi Solade and hits cinemas nationwide.

A Ghetto Love Story

Directed by Daniel Oriahi (The Weekend, Sylvia), A Ghetto Love Story explores the complexities of love, relationships, and survival in a bustling, lower-income neighborhood, capturing the essence of finding love in unexpected places while navigating the challenges of daily life. The film produced by BasketMouth and Miz Vick stars Chioma Akpotha, Efe Irele, Beverly  Osu, Comedian Senator, Wole Ojo, and Akah Nnani, coming to cinemas nationwide.

Suspicion

Voke, gifted with extraordinary powers, seeks vengeance for his friend’s murder. As he delves into black magic, he confronts betrayal and moral challenges. Ultimately, he must decide how far he’ll go for justice. Wole Soyinka – Eni Ogun

A new biopic, Wole Soyinka – Eni Ogun, directed, written, and produced by Joshua Ojo, is set to debut in cinemas across Nigeria. The film explores the life and legacy of Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka. Starring Lateef Adedimeji as Wole Soyinka, the film also stars Segun Arinze, Jide  Kosoko, Ibrahim Chatta, Bimbo Oshin, Femi Branch, Dele Odule, Joke Muyiwa, Saeed Mohammed (Funky Mallam), and Oyetoro Hafiz (Saka). 

Sisi London

Besties! Chioma Akpotha and Omoni Oboli star in a new comedy film Sisi London coming to your Netflix screens across Africa this season. The film also stars Ameachi Muonagor.

Immaculate

Red One

J.K Simmons is Santa Claus in this christmas action adventure where Santa Claus is kidnapped and Callum Drift, the head of North Pole security, must team up with Jack O’Malley, a bounty hunter, to find and rescue him. Emilia Pérez

Emilia Pérez is a musical crime comedy film inspired by the opera libretto by Jacques Audiard, which was loosely adapted from Boris Razon’s 2018 novel, Écoute. The plot centers around a Mexican lawyer who receives an unusual assignment: to assist a notorious cartel boss in transitioning into life as a woman, fulfilling a long-held desire.The film stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, Mark Ivanir, and Édgar Ramírez. 

November 15

 Gladiator 2

Much Ado about Denzel Washington in this new epic action film directed and co-produced by Ridley Scott. Serving as a sequel to Gladiator (2000), it follows Lucius after his home is conquered by the tyrannical emperors who now lead Rome and is now forced to enter the Colosseum and must look to his past to find strength to return the glory of Rome to its people. Gladiator 2 also stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Connie Nielsen and hits cinemas nationwide.

The Fall Guy

The Fall Guy is an action comedy film coming to Showmax that follows a stuntman working on his ex-girlfriend’s directorial debut action film, only to find himself involved in a conspiracy surrounding the film’s lead actor. It stars  Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, and Winston Duke.

The Piano Lesson

The Piano Lesson, set in 1936 Pittsburgh in the shadow of the Great Depression, focusing on the Charles family as they navigate family tensions in the Doaker Charles household and  the family’s  heirloom piano, carved by an enslaved ancestor, which becomes a symbol of both family legacy and struggle.The film coming to Netflix, stars Samuel L. Civil War

In the dystopian thriller Civil War, a near-future America finds itself divided and chaotic. Moana 2

The hit animated film Moana comes back to the cinemas for a second time and follows the daring wayfinder Moana as she embarks on a new adventure three years after the events of the first film. Arcane 2

The second season of Arcane, the animated series inspired by the League of Legends game, will return to Netflix. Set in a steampunk-inspired alternate world, this season intensifies the conflict as former loving siblings, now arch-nemeses, find themselves on opposing sides of a civil war between Piltover’s wealthy elite and the impoverished underworld of Zaun.In a departure from the typical binge-release model, Arcane Season 2 will be released in three weekly installments. Act 1 will premiere on November 9, followed by Act 2 on November 16, and the third and final act on November 23.

Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist 

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Muhammad Ali’s iconic October 1970 comeback fight, Fight Night is a fictionalized retelling of a notorious armed robbery at an Atlanta after-party celebrating Ali’s victory over Jerry Quarry. Cobra Kai S6 (Part 2)

Netflix’s Cobra Kai will conclude with a special three-part send-off, bringing an end to the decades-long saga that began in 1984 with The Karate Kid.
