Kantagari Goes To Town

Another in the First Features Project and Directed by Reuben Reng(Love and Life) Katangari Goes To Town explores a retired police inspector turned vigilante who is reluctantly summoned to Abuja to solve his cousin’s mystery murder. This leads him deep into a web of family secrets, betrayal, and suspense. The cast includes Segun Arinze, Ireti Doyle, Munachi Abii, Sani Mu’azu and Gbubemi Ejeye.

Lisabi: A Legend is Born

The second part of the Netflix two-part film directed by Niyi Akinmolayan returns this new year. Lisabi: A Legend is Born tells the story of 18th-century Egba farmers’ rebellion against the Oyo Empire. It stars Adedimeji Lateef, Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Chatta, Rose Afije and Odunlade Adekola.

 Something About The Briggs

Directed by Bukola Ogunsola (Another Father’s Day), Something About the Briggs delves into themes of wealth, family, and marriage. The film features a stellar cast, including Rita Dominic, Iyabo ojo, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Stan Nze, Kenneth Okolie, and Kalu Ikeagwu. The film will be available in Cinemas Nationwide.

In Bruges

2008 film In Brudges debuts on Showmax. The film follows Ray and Ken, two hitmen who get stuck in Bruges, Belgium, after an unsuccessful mission. The Invisible Man

Elizabeth Moss leads this 2020 reboot of the 1933 sci-fi film. It follows Cecilia’s abusive ex-boyfriend fakes his death and becomes invisible to stalk and torment her. She begins experiencing strange events and decides to hunt down the truth on her own. It stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, Michael Dorman and airs on Showmax.

Lost in Translation 

Sofia Coppola’s 2003 romantic-comedy film is headed to Showmax. The film follows an American actor Bob landing in Tokyo for an ad film and ends up meeting Charlotte, who’s left behind by her photographer husband. Gradually, the two discover a friend within each other. Lost in Translation features Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Giovanni Ribisi and Anna Faris.

From the director of Horrible Bosses comes Back in Action, an action-comedy heading to Netflix. The film follows former CIA spies Emily and Matt, forced back into the world of espionage after their secret identities are compromised. Minions: The Rise of Gru

Minions: The Rise of Gru, the 2022 animated comedy film, is set to premiere on Netflix this January. A sequel to Minions and a prequel to Despicable Me , the film delves into 11-year-old Gru’s early ambitions of becoming a supervillain, aided by the Minions. Their antics lead to a showdown with a nefarious team, the Vicious 6.
