The 25th James Bond movie and Daniel Craig’s final appearance as the popular 007 agent has once again been postponed. The movie was originally set to be released in April 2020, then pushed back to November 2020 due to the unforeseen virus outbreak. To the relief of fans and a sign of departure from 2020, it was later scheduled to be released on April 2, 2021, but this installment in the long running franchise has been pushed back yet again to October 8, 2021.

Bond returns to the field to face Safin (Rami Malek) who is armed with a dangerous technology that could destroy the world.
The pandemic has made a lot of movies such as Scoob, Disney’s Artemis fowl and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, opt for streaming services. According to Daily Mail, Bloomberg had reported that Netflix, Amazon and Apple had all been approached about the possibility of the movie being offered up for Premium VOD (also streaming). However, according to Deadline, none of the streaming services were willing to pay more than half of the price the studio wanted.
Ralph Fiennes, who will be reprising his role as M in the film as reported by BBC news said “…I would love the idea that people could go to the cinema and have the full effect of the big-screen energy behind the Bond, but I’m sure it’s something the people who make these executive decisions are probably considering.” “…But of course we don’t know, and there may be financial reasons or imperatives that [mean] they have to put it on a streaming system”, when asked if No Time to Die will follow the streaming route like some movies have done due to COVID. Lea Seydoux, Jeffrey Wright, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomie Harris join Daniel Craig in his final appearance as 007. Newcomers include Lashana Lynch from Captain Marvel and “Bohemian Rhapsody” Oscar winner Rami Malek as the villain.
It would really be great for people to see the action pack movie on the big screen. The constant postponement due to COVID-19 is really disappointing, but it is a necessary measure to take. Maybe, just like the unforeseen virus creeped in, the world might be back to normal without us knowing it.
