The Filmjoint, a platform dedicated to celebrating creativity in short-form storytelling, hosted the second edition of its awards ceremony on February 6 at EbonyLife Place. Guests like Best Actress nominee Fadekemi Olumide-Aluko, Mami Wata executive producer Mautin Tairu, veteran actress Stella Damasus, Over The Bridge and Princess on a Hill director Tolu Ajayi, Tokunbo producer Chris Odeh and more graced the red carpet, engaging in interviews before heading into the theatre hall, where the main ceremony was getting started.
Shortly after, The Filmjoint founder Gbenga Adeoti came up to deliver his opening remarks, expressing gratitude to attendees, sponsors and media partners and officially opening the ceremony. The event was hosted by The Filmjoint co-founder, Dawn Ntekim-rex, and renowned media personality, Aduni Abe, who guided the audience through the program, announced key segments, and kept the energy high throughout the show.
Moses Ipadeola’s Ekún Ìyàwó: A Tale of a Runaway Bride led the nominations with eight nods and won big, taking home four awards, including Best Picture and Best African Film. The Birth, directed by Segilola Ogidan, was also among the most nominated films and secured a win for Best Director.
