After Bridgerton’s first season success, Netflix has been forced to turn its attention to the fight against the online circulation of sex scenes involving Rege Jean and Phoebe Dynevor. The Shonda Rhimes produced series features a number of steamy scenes between the two young actors. These scenes can now be found across the internet, most especially, where you do not want them—on porn websites.
Bridgerton is a Netflix period drama series, adapted from Julia Quinn’s series of novels. Netflix describes it as a story in which eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family look for love and happiness in London high society. It premiered on 25th of December on the platform.
It depicts the steamy sex lives of British aristocrats, and how couple, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Duke (Regé-Jean Page), were able to break all boundaries to experience the love they deserve.

For upcoming stars, this could be a nightmare and might make them insecure going into future projects as an actor. When needed for storytelling, explicit sex scenes could really depict the realness of characters as human beings amongst other reasons. In Bridgerton, it shows how Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke (Regé-Jean Page) experience growth in their relationship, as their romance becomes more passionate over time.
NY Post reveals that shows such as Game of Thrones and, 2020 Hulu series, Normal People suffered similar fate, with the latter having a 22-minute sex compilation distributed over the dark web after being taken off the world wide web.
A number of the clips have been successfully removed, but Netflix still has a lot to do as the internet never slumbers.
Earlier this year, Netflix reported that the series was on course to reach 63 million households. (We’ll discuss Netflix’s problematic method of estimating viewership another time)
Away from the explicit scenes, the two stars have also had to deny rumours claiming that both stars are hooking up in real life. They merely did their jobs, boys and girls!
Fandom spirit might be getting to an extreme level as a scene from the series where Page (Duke) demonstrates his oral skills on a spoon also has an Instagram page dedicated to it. (Ask for the link nicely in the comments)
