Two anticipated Nollywood projects, King of Thieves 2 and a remake of the classic, Agbara Nla, have recently been announced with the streaming platform, Circuits named as a co-producer on both projects. Being on board these projects hints at Circuits’ looking beyond streaming, by actively funding and producing stories.

King of Thieves 2, which was reported to wrap filming in May, 2025, sees Circuits partnering with Femi Adebayo’s Euphoria360 and Hawk Studios. The first movie, released in 2022, is a Yoruba epic centered on Agesinkole, an invincible bandit who brings terror to the fictional kingdom of Ajeromi. The first King of Thieves played a huge role in ushering in the new wave of Yoruba Epics in cinemas, and while the sequel’s release date (during this festive season, to be distributed by Blue Pictures) is yet to be confirmed, anticipation seems to be growing among the audience who enjoyed the first movie.
In the same fashion, Circuits has teamed up with Mount Zion Film Productions (led by Mike and Gloria Bamiloye) and Chris Odeh’s Sozo Films, for the remake of Agbara Nla, a 90s faith-based classic that revolves around spiritual warfare and divine power. And with the wave of classic remakes in Nollywood, it’s not a surprise that the remake buzz is reaching the faith-based quarters. The filming of Agbara Nla: The Return officially commenced in October, 2025, and while its release date has not been officially announced yet, it has been confirmed that it will be exclusively released on Circuits.
Around the time Netflix started scaling back from its investments in Nollywood projects, Circuits, in December 2024, emerged as a virtual cinema and TVOD platform solely focused on African content. The platform implements models like pay-per-view and FlexiWatch passes.
By dipping its legs into film production alongside established stakeholders, it opens Circuits to more original titles for their platform (as direct or post theatrical releases) beyond licensed titles that can only be on their platform for a limited time.
