Rahama Sadau who rose to fame in late 2013 after joining the Kannywood, with her first movie Gani ga Wane, was blacklisted by the Northern filmmakers under the aegis of Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN), over a raunchy picture she had posted on social media.

The body said the post by the actress had resulted to blasphemous comments against the Holy Prophet of Islam.

The apex body of northern filmmakers had earlier suspended the actress in October of 2016 for similar misconduct.

However, the Kano State Censors Board, which is said to be monitoring the Hausa YouTube channels in order to guard against immorality in the state, granted her unconditional pardon in 2018.

Kannywood is the sobriquet for Hausa-language cinema.
