Insecure: An Insight About Molly’s Life

This is not a religion inclined review but just a moral assessment about one of the series major characters. Issa’s best friend, Molly(Yvonne Orji) seems like a good girl living the decent life with a good job living comfortably. Her only shortcoming was a good relationship which she never had till the end of the second season.

One major thing I noted about Molly(Yvonne Orji) was that she was sexually active as she had sex with most of the guys she hooked up with. After sex, she then finally realised they were not her type or they were not good enough for her.

As the series progressed, I realised it wasn’t really just about Molly. The series was littered with this same mindset, for example, Lawerence’s co-worker, Aparna(Jasmine Kaur), the girl he later had an affair with told him having sex doesn’t necessarily mean they were close. This begets my question: Shouldn’t sex be a landmark for settling in a relationship? and shouldn’t relationship be given a shot  before we start servicing each other?

Lastly, since the series is about the modern day African girl. Is this one of her attributes? Let me know your opinion in the comments section below.

Insecure currently available in two seasons.

  1. Bro, in the world we live in today sex na casual thing o. Not everyone attaches emotions to sex. So it’s not a Landmark o, not even a checkpoint sorry to say. Plus she is obviously tasting to be sure the servicing is not bad once or if she enters a relationship with the guy.

  2. Maybe. So you think it’s okay?
What actually inspired this post is the fact that there are things in “this” modern world that we feel is right probably because there are lots of people doing it, from a girl child point of view I strongly believe it shouldn’t be. Thanks for the comment Bro. Peace!
