PinPoint Productions Confirms ‘Aloma’ as Chris Ihidero’s First Feature Film

PinPoint Productions has announced Aloma, the debut feature film from Nigerian filmmaker Chris Ihidero. The thriller is in post-production and scheduled for an international premiere in 2026.  A teaser has been released to give audiences a first look at the film.

Written and directed by Ihidero, Aloma is set in urban Nigeria and explores the social divide between the wealthy and the poor. The director drew inspiration from his early life in Lagos neighbourhoods, including Oshodi and Shomolu.

Confirmed cast includes Shawn Faqua (Soole), Folu Storms (Red Circle), Asa’ah Samuel (At Ease), Kalu Ikeagwu (Big Love), Segun Arinze (Áfàméfùnà: An Nwa Boi Story), Tina Mba (The Serpent’s Gift), Juliet Ibrahim (All Is Fair in Love), and Elvina Ibru (Tarella: Princess of the Nile). Musical artist Ayo Maff makes his acting debut in the thriller, having recorded an original song for the project.

Speaking in a press statement, Wole Ajetomobi, Head of Productions at PinPoint Media, announced that shooting had wrapped and post-production in progress. “We believe Aloma is a film that transcends regional boundaries, telling a deeply human story with universal themes of love, struggle, and resilience in the modern African context.”

Chris Ihidero has worked extensively in television, journalism, and academia. He was formerly COO of Amaka Igwe Studios and served as head writer and story editor for notable MNet series like Hush and Forbidden. In 2014, he founded PinPoint Media, which manages the Lagos Film Academy and True Nollywood Stories platforms, both focused on developing new talent.

Speaking further, Ajetomobi noted that Ihidero’s vision, the dedication of the cast and crew, and the strategic financial backing from MBO Capital have allowed them to create a work of exceptional quality that they anticipate will set a new benchmark for cinematic ambition on the continent.

The film, which began development in 2016 with the first draft completed during the 2023 pandemic, is backed by MBO Capital.

MBO Capital has most recently backed titles from Nemsia Studios, First Features initiative and BRS Studios.
