Folu Storms Joins ‘Spiraling’ Series, Set to Star Alongside Seun Ajayi

Folu Storms has been tapped to star alongside Seun Ajayi in Spiraling, Wande Thomas’ recently announced thriller series. The roles of both stars in the project, about to begin principal photography, remain tightly under the lid.

Storms will portray a character who is faced with a series of impossible choices. “It’s a very substantial role,”  Director Thomas reveals, “not just reactive, but active.”

Spiraling revolves around a tech entrepreneur entangled in the complexities of her own creation.

The series will be “rooted in the human psyche and how we react under pressure” Wande Thomas says in a statement. “We wanted a cast that would elevate the material and bring nuanced performances. Folu Storms is a rising star— and an incredible choice for one of our leads.”

Wande Thomas and Isoken Ogiemwonyi developed the original story, with Thomas penning the screenplay. Studio Ogiso’s Isoken Ogiemwonyi will produce the series.

Ogiemwonyi adds, “In developing this story with Wande, casting played a crucial role in our process. We reviewed at least 100 tapes. Our casting director, Daphne Akatugba (Pages Casting), brought us some truly remarkable finds. One of those finds is Storms.”

“Daphne’s ability to spot talent, particularly emerging talent, is unparalleled in my experience,” Ogiemwonyi showers some more praise on the casting director. “She can be very persistent about the talent she believes in. She got us to make some unexpected but very exciting choices. I think the team has assembled a great cast”

Storms was most recently seen in Showmax’s Crime and Justice: Lagos, and romantic drama Cake

Thomas most recently directed The Smart Money Woman season 2, and the festival-bound short film Don’t Swipe starring Eso Dike & Ariyiike Owolagba.

Storms is repped by Working Talent Agency.

Other cast and plot details remain unknown.
