Since we first saw stills of Seun Kuti and some young actors in No Man’s Land in 2021, it has been a long wait for excited viewers who are constantly looking forward to the next bit of news about this project. Looking back on Instagram posts ahead of this article, we found some more information than we previously knew: a traffic shootout scene should be looked forward to in the film.
Directed by Blessing Uzzi, No Man’s Land is her feature film debut. Blessing Uzzi’s other efforts have been in the music video world, directing videos for Brother Shaggi, Waje, Chike, and Cobhams Asuquo. She has also directed a short film, Sister Rose, starring Neo Akpofure, Uzoamaka Aniunoh and Daniel Seaman.
Blessing Uzzi also serves as the producer for No Man’s Land for Bluhouse Studios. With the growing library of the studio’s yet to be released films, here is everything we know about No Man’s Land.
Story
Very little is known about No Man’s Land. What we can put together from the stills and released poster is that we are returning to the street, to tell a story about the street, for the street. It looks to be gritty, full of crime and action.
The Cast
No Man’s Land will star Femi Branch as Eddie Oshowobi, Omowunmi Dada as Kemi, Sola Sobowale as Mama P, Seun Kuti as Babalola. New faces like Waris Rasheed and Jessica Hyacinth will be introduced.
The Crew
Joining director Blessing Uzzi on No Man’s Land are Caleb Okereke (as co-writer), Johnny Drille (sound), Kabelo Thathe (cinematography) and Afolabi Olalekan (editor).
Distribution Rights
The last time we got any major news about the project, two first look posters were released. Nothing else is known about the project at the moment.
