UME (Breathe), a short film directed by Faustina Okomayin and produced by Sandra Iroegbu, centers on the psychological struggles of a successful doctor, played by Celia Okechukwu who has been paralyzed following a motor accident and seeks mercy killing from her sister, portrayed by Amanda Oruh (Rehearsal, Omozi)

The Igbo indigenous film has garnered recognition from festivals, including a nomination for The Best Short Film category at AFRIFF in 2023 and selected as the opening film at the Lagos Fringe Festival in the same year. Most recently, it was nominated at the 2024 The FilmJoint festival. 

The short touts itself as a tale of love, death, and sisterhood and seeks to educate on the struggles of the terminally disabled.

It’s now available to stream now on Youtube- Blockit Studios.
