Lionsgate in collaboration with YouTube, Fandango and National Association of Theatre Owners plan to stream movies for free across four weeks. Lionsgate aims to stream a movie from their classic library every Friday on their YouTube channel and Fandango’s MovieClips channel, according to Hollywood Reporter. This will be a collaborative session that would be hosted by Jaime Lee Curtis. However, proceeds from the four week event will go to aid the work of the charity that supports theatre workers who are out of work due to the Covid-19. The movies to be shown include: The Hunger Games (April 17), Dirty…

As a kid, when I was told there would be lot of challenges to face in future, little never did I think of a larger number of it being virtual and not physical. There are multiple challenges taking place on all corners of the world wide web that you should not be accused of using Glo (a very slow Nigerian network) if you lack awareness on any of them. I have never seen so many take place simultaneously. However, it could be as a result of trying to mask the real physical challenges we should be facing with virtual ones…

I started watching Big Mouth the year it premiered. Accompanied with other adult animated TV shows, it was groundbreaking, based on a core theme which the title of the show does not even give away, like let’s say Sex Education. Big Mouth deals with puberty in the life of a group of kids who just hit adolescence. This is depicted in the horniest of ways. Even the graphics animation goes all out. It doesn’t hold back, not even when it reaches deeper sexual topics. Moreover, it frequently features catchy, humorous, basic songs, inserted as musicals for lighthearted illustration concerning a…

Spoiler free review It has been 445 days since Netflix announced their first original coming from Africa, namely Queen Sono. I have waited. I have followed closely. I have stalked. Not to mention, over a 100 series have been released since then. Of course, I am exaggerating. But, you get the gist- Queen Sono is finally here. Queen Sono stars Pearl Thusi as a South African spy working for a secret government organisation who are in charge of intercepting and preventing any form of social or political unrest that tries to affect the daily life of the South African people…

Spoiler free review I have been following Parasite closely ever since it won the Palme d’or at the Cannes Festival in the second quarter of last year. As it got a wider and extended release after its Best Film win, I got hopeful because it meant it would be shown in more cinemas. However, after disappointments of cinema being sold out for parasite’s screening, I finally got to see it today. Much more interesting is the kind of cinema where I saw this beauty. It’s your old skool styled movie house which befits such an original story that’s rarely seen…

“Just took a little bit of work and a whole lot of love.” I could not upload or even manage to draft any Oscar related post this year. Oscar season has been ‘critical-time-in-the-semester’ for me this year (do not ask me how I managed this post). It came to an end on Sunday night with South Korean black comedy, Parasite, winning the major awards and beloved Netflix picking up just two wins after leading the nominations chart. Well, well, money still can not do some things. While trying to stay updated by looking up the winners of the night, I…

Spoiler-free Adam Sandler is a banger! I got excited the moment I found out this movie would be released on Netflix. For a non-streaming service studio movie, still screening in the US, I did not expect to see it until next year or later this year at most. Apparently, Netflix nabbed the international distribution rights to the movie, which means free to watch anywhere else outside the US of A. Although I promised inconsistency, I knew I just had to write something on this movie, as the leading actor, Adam Sandler, has always been one of my favourite actors, if…

My Money “You have to spend money to make money.” Frohes neues! It has been a while. Like more than a while. Last post was related to the TV award season and now we’re a few weeks away to the biggest awards show of the movie awards season. Last year I spent lot of time hustling. At the same time, I was enjoying what I worked for. I visited more places than I’ve ever in my entire life. 2 new cities outside Germany and 4 new towns in Germany. 2 were work-related and 4 I did for myself (2019 resolution…

Game of Thrones took home the biggest award of the night by winning the best drama award, but unfortunately lost in almost every other category it was nominated in drama-wise. This tells me the best drama win was only a farewell gift for the beloved series, and not a well-deserved one. Winners from this year are more from a diverse number of shows than a particular TV show raking all the available awards home which shows how competitive TV has become in the era of Peak TV. There was always something to go round for everyone. Even losing must have…
