Full AMVCA 2025 Winners List: Femi Adebayo and Chioma Chukwuka Win Lead Acting Categories for Seven Doors

The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, bringing together the brightest talents in African film and television. Held on May 10, 2025, this year’s ceremony celebrated a rich year of storytelling, technical brilliance, and outstanding performances across the continent.

Lisabi: The Uprising and Seven Doors emerged as the night’s biggest winners, winning Best Indigenous Film (West Africa) while Seven Doors, directed by Femi Adebayo, won the awards in Best Lead Actor for Adebayo himself, and Best Lead Actress for Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha. One of the evening’s highlights was film director and producer Kayode Kasum receiving the Trailblazer Award, much to the surprise of viewers. First-time nominee Blessing Uzzi won two awards, taking home Best Writing in a Movie and Best Movie for Freedom Way. Another first-time nominee recognised at the ceremony was Awam Amkpa, who won for his directorial work on Wole Soyinka’s memoir, The Man Died.
