Principal Photography Wraps Up on Orire Nwani’s Mystery Thriller ‘Baptism’

Conceptified Media and One Child Grace Studios have completed principal photography on Baptism, a mystery thriller directed by Orire Nwani, known for his work on Prime Video’s Grind, the AMVCA-nominated short film T’egbon T’aburo, and Maggi’s Ramadan campaign Tales of Ramadan. And we have our first look at the project.

Baptism follows members of St. Jude’s Cathedral as they travel to the outskirts of town for a baptism, where a boy’s sudden drowning disrupts the ceremony and unravels a chain of unsettling events within the church community.

Ozzy Agu (Over the Bridge), Toni Tones (The Smart Money Woman), and Bimbo Manuel (Princess on a Hill) lead the film with supporting acts from Yvonne Jegede (Adire), Tomi Ojo (Far from Home), and Nollywood veteran Jide Kosoko, along with Bobby Ekpe (Under The Influence), Seun Kentebe (A Danfo Christmas), Toheeb Oseni (Omera), and Funmbi Toye (Under the Influence).

Baptism is produced by Josh Olaoluwa (Oloture: The Journey, A Sunday Affair) and Goodness Emmanuel (The Griot), with cinematography by Fadamana Okwong (The Fire & The Moth) and production managed by Rume Orukpe. The screenplay is written by Adaora Sandra (Afamefuna) and Hope Eniayekan (Revisit).

Executive producers include Efosa Ogbomo, Josh Olaoluwa, and Orire Nwani under their respective production houses, One Child Grace Studios and Conceptified Media.

Orire Nwani was most recently among 16 filmmakers selected for Red Sea Series Lab 2025 for another project.

Baptism was shot entirely on location in Lagos. Further details about its release remain unknown.
