Her Excellency
In honour of his 60th anniversary in the industry, Adebayo Salami is marking the occasion with a new film titled Her Excellency. A remake of his earlier work Agbara Obinrin, Her Excellency was shot in Ilorin, Kwara State and directed by Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani, with Salami as supervisory director. The film stars Sola Sobowale in the lead, alongside Bimbo Ademoye, Yemi Solade, Femi Adebayo, Jide Kosoko, Muyiwa Ademola, Odunlade Adekola, Aisha Lawal, Fathia Balogun, and Kiekie. The Lost Days marks Wingonia Ikpi’s directorial debut, part of the First Features Project slate by Natives Filmworks and MichelAngelo Productions, heading exclusively to Prime Video. Tunde Kelani returns with Cordelia, a political drama set in 1990s Nigeria. A university lecturer’s quiet life shifts when he shelters a student, Cordelia, whose father is a military officer linked to a coup. Based on Femi Osofisan’s novella, the story unfolds against the backdrop of campus unrest, military power, and personal risk. Omowunmi Dada leads the cast alongside William Benson, Femi Adebayo, Yvonne Jegede, and Keppy Ekpenyong. Èwò (Forbidden), produced by Riverside Productions, tells a modern story torn between tradition and personal choice. Freedom Way
Freedom Way follows two young tech entrepreneurs, Themba (played by Jesse Suntele) and Tayo (played by Nigerian musician Ogranya), who launch a motorcycle-hailing app called Easy Go. Their mission is to create economic opportunities for okada (motorcycle) riders, but their ambition quickly comes under threat from government restrictions, police harassment, and systemic corruption. Zikoko Life, a three-part anthology film series, explores love,, and autonomy through three stories: What’s Left of Us follows a married woman reclaiming her body autonomy (directed by Victor Daniel and Olamide Adio, starring Caleb Richards and Tolu Asanu); My Body captures a newlywed couple navigating faith and sexual intimacy (written, directed by, and starring Uzoamaka Power); while Something Sweet tells of a woman in her 40s finding love with a younger man (written by Dika Ofoma, starring Michelle Dede). To Kill a Monkey, a Netflix crime thriller series created, written, directed, and showrun by Kemi Adetiba, tells the story of Efemini (played by William Benson), a man pushed to the brink by poverty. Big Brother Naija S10
Reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, now in its tenth season will premiere this weekend on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, Africa Magic Showcase, and Africa Magic Family, while also streaming 24/7 on Showmax and the DStv/GOtv Stream apps. The show will run for 10 weeks, ending with its grand finale on Sunday, 5 October 2025.
This season will be hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who is returning for his ninth consecutive time as host. The winner will receive a grand prize of ₦150 million, which includes cash and sponsored rewards, making it the highest prize ever offered in the history of Big Brother Naija.
