Agbara Nla: The Return

Thirty-three years after Agbara Nla first appeared, Mount Zion Faith Ministries is bringing the Christian classic to cinemas. Agbara Nla: The Return revisits the original story through a contemporary production, with Mike Bamiloye reprising his role as Isawuru. Damilola and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye direct the new version, also starring David Kola Okeowo, Ruby Kolade, and Philip Olubakin. The sequel opens in cinemas nationwide.

MKO

The life and political legacy of Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola take centre stage in Ose Oyamendan’s investigative documentary MKO. The film traces Abiola’s journey from his early life to his business career and political ambitions, including the 1993 presidential election, its annulment and the events surrounding his death in 1998. Following a world premiere at Sheffield DocFest, MKO will now premiere theatrically.
Oversabi Aunty

Toyin Abraham plays Toun, a church usher whose constant attempts to correct those around her begin to affect her own family. Written and directed by Abraham, the comedy-drama also stars Mike Ezuruonye, Jemima Osunde, Efe Irele, Tana Adelana and Enioluwa Adeoluwa. It was released in cinemas in December 2025 and now heads to Netflix and Kava.

Seriously Single Too

Dineo and Noni are ready to enjoy the single life and take on Johannesburg’s party scene together, until Noni’s boyfriend unexpectedly proposes. The sequel to the South African romantic comedy Seriously Single follows the best friends as the engagement threatens to change the dynamic between them, forcing both women to confront what they want from love, friendship and adulthood. Directed by Yinka Akanbi, Fehintola Olulana stars and produces First Lady, a political drama film about Adunola, the First Lady of Lagos State, whose long-held desire to have a child leads to a pregnancy that threatens her marriage, public image and political standing. Desmond Elliot, Ibrahim Suleiman, Ngozi Nwosu and Jaiye Kuti co-star. The film opens in cinemas across the country.
Pushing 30

Directed by Orobosa Ikponmwen, Pushing 30 follows a 30-year-old tech founder who appears to have everything. His birthday brunch, however, takes an unexpected turn when old rivalries, romantic baggage, career insecurities and long-held secrets begin to surface.
Written by Mannie Oiseomaye from a story by Oiseomaye and Mayowa Mula, the ensemble dramedy stars Deji Osikoya, Darasimi Ogbetah, Mula, Kanaga Emmanuel Eme, Kanyin Eros, Uzor Daniel, Sharon Rotimi, Doris Okorie and Floyd Igbo. The Mula-produced project premieres on Africa Magic Showcase.

When the illegitimate daughter of the country’s richest agripreneur inherits his empire and a potentially life-saving crop formula, she is forced to decide which global power should receive it. Tele x Zikora

Tele and Zikora meet at Lagos Metropolitan University, where their very different personalities and backgrounds soon become intertwined. Directed by Adenike Adebayo-Esho, Mike Afolarin plays Tele, a tech-minded student dealing with family expectations, while Genoveva Umeh plays Zikora, a popular influencer whose life extends beyond what she presents online. The young adult drama is coming to cinemas.

Phoenix Fury

Two women find themselves connected by the same man and a shared desire for revenge in Ifeoma Chukwuogo’s Phoenix Fury. The feature debut stars Uzoamaka Power, Onyinye Odokoro, Ama K. Abebrese, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Adjetey Anang, Tina Mba and Richard Mofe-Damijo and follows their pursuit of justice across Nigeria and Ghana. The film will be released in Nigerian and Ghanaian cinemas after a premiere at AFRIFF 2024, where it won Best Director.
Wire Transfer

The crime thriller from Kuros Studios follows a group of emerging criminals planning a high-stakes operation. Starring Hanks Anuku, Gideon Okeke, Deyemi Okanlawon, Mike Afolarin, Rita Edochie and Teddy A, catch it in cinemas.
