Zach Cregger follows up Barbarian with a chilling town-wide mystery that begins when 17 children from the same classroom leave their homes at the same time and never return. Josh Brolin plays a father searching for answers, while Julia Garner appears as the teacher whose class vanished. Alden Ehrenreich is the police officer trying to solve the mystery. Amy Madigan, Benedict Wong, and Austin Abrams round out the cast. Released in Nigerian cinemas via FilmOne on August 8, 2025, the Warner Bros. title earned ₦104.3 million.

Directed by Joachim Rønning, Jared Leto stars as Ares, a powerful program sent from the digital Grid into the real world on a secret mission. Jason Statham headlines this action thriller as a former operative pulled back into violence after a personal loss. Directed by David Ayer, the story focuses on underground crime networks and one man’s refusal to stay quiet. Released locally through FilmOne on March 28, 2025, the Warner Bros. title earned ₦148.1 million
16. Zootopia 2 (₦155,274,820)
The sequel sees the return of animated favourites in a sequel that combines family comedy and mystery. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman reprise their roles as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, respectively, chasing a mysterious reptilian threat in the lively animal metropolis. Also featuring voices from Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, the Disney-distributed film became one of 2025’s highest earners, grossing around $1.77 billion worldwide. Gerard Butler returns as grizzled cop Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien in this action‑heist sequel. Brad Pitt stars as a former Formula One driver who returns to the sport to help a struggling team and mentor a younger driver played by Damson Idris. 10. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle (₦194,315,379)
The story follows Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps as they enter the Infinity Castle to face Muzan and his strongest demons. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, the anime action adapts the climactic chapter of the Demon Slayer saga, with Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps battling Muzan’s forces within the eerie Infinity Castle. The Marvel film brings together characters who are not traditional heroes. 4. Captain America: Brave New World (₦418,565,693)
Directed by Julius Onah and released on Valentine’s Day 2025, Captain America: Brave New World follows Sam (Anthony Mackie) as he assumes the mantle of Captain America while facing political and personal challenges. With supporting performances from Harrison Ford and Shira Haas, the FilmOne-distributed movie made ₦418 million.
3. The Fantastic Four: First Steps (₦488,864,303)
Distributed by FilmOne, The Fantastic Four: First Steps brings Marvel’s first family to the big screen with Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Directed by Matt Shakman and released by Disney, the superhero film shows how these four individuals discover their powers and come together to face a cosmic threat. It was released July 25 and earned about ₦489 million at the Nigerian box office.
2. Superman (₦493,005,308)
The 2025 Superman film, directed by James Gunn, stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, with Clark working as a journalist while facing new threats to Metropolis. Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult appears as Lex Luthor. Released July 11 by Warner Bros. and distributed by FilmOne, the action fantasy earned nearly ₦493 million in Nigeria and generated excitement for kicking off a new chapter in the DC Universe.

Ryan Coogler-directed Sinners dominated the Nigerian box office following its Warner Bros. release on April 18. The horror feature explores the eerie supernatural events surrounding twin brothers in 1930s Mississippi. Starring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo and distributed by FilmOne, Sinners made over ₦775 million and snagged 16 Oscar nominations, breaking the record for the most nominated film in Oscars’ history.
