MultiChoice has introduced new DStv and GOtv subscription packages across key African markets as part of a review of the company’s operations following its acquisition by CANAL+, which also affected the partial migration of Showmax to DStv Stream earlier this year.
The new subscription packages with the refreshed channel lineups are scheduled to take effect from November 5, 2026, designed to simplify subscription choices, while promising to improve value for money and give viewers more options based on their entertainment and sports preferences.
DStv subscribers will have four packages to choose from: Starter, Select, Sports and Premium. GOtv subscribers will have Easy, Starter, Select and Sports.
Another significant change affects MultiChoice’s African entertainment offering. The existing Africa Magic channels are set to be combined into a single channel called Africa Magic+. The consolidated channel will feature local and international series, bringing programming previously spread across the Africa Magic channels under one offering.
As previously announced, DStv is also refreshing its movie lineup with M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends. According to MultiChoice, subscribers can expect more blockbuster films, faster access to new releases after their cinema runs and fewer repeats.
Below are the tiers of the new DStv and GOtv plans and other migration plans.

How to Get Connected to DStv and GOtv
MultiChoice is also continuing its decoder promotion for customers looking to access its services. According to the company, new customers can purchase a DStv or GOtv decoder, a full kit and a one month entry level subscription for 15,000 naira
Customers who prefer to stream can also download the DStv Stream app and subscribe as standalone users from 6,000 naira.
For more information about the new packages, migration arrangements and hardware promotions, customers can visit the official DStv and GOtv websites.
A new streaming app is expected to launch in the future, bringing all MultiChoice titles together on a single platform. This comes amid complaints from users about missing Showmax titles that have yet to migrate to DStv Stream.
