The Nigerian Official Selection Committee Opens Submissions for 98th Oscars (Important Dates)

The Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) has officially opened submissions for Nigeria’s entry in the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.

Nigerian filmmakers can submit their films between August 13 – September 12, 2025, via the official NOSC portal.

As the October 1, 2025 international feature film submission deadline draws closer as stipulated by The Academy, here are other important dates to note ahead of the upcoming award season.

Consideration window: The films must have been released for at least seven consecutive days in cinemas in their respective country from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

Submission Window of the NOSC

August 13 – September 12, 2025

Academy Submission Deadline 

October 1, 2025

Two rounds of voting will take place by the Academy:

Firstly, to decide on a shortlist of 15 titles.

Then another round of voting to decide a list of 5 titles that shall become the nominations for final voting for the International Feature Film award.
