Colour Me True

Colour Me True tells the story of Ivie, a well-known celebrity whose life is turned upside down when a scandal forces her to return to the orphanage where she grew up. Played by Shalewa Ashafa, Ivie must confront memories she long tried to leave behind and find a way to reclaim her dignity. Written and directed by Toluwani Obayan Osibe, the drama stars  Bucci Franklin, Eseosa Bernard, Nnamdi Agbo and Gerard Adebija. As the tenth instalment of the First Features Project, Colour Me True will be available on Prime Video.

Love and Wine

Love & Wine follows Ovee, a wealthy heir played by Ntobeko Sishi, who trades lives with his driver and best friend Nathi, portrayed by Thandolwethu Zondi, to prove that love can happen without money or status. Their switch leads Ovee to Amahle, a medical student played by Masali Baduza, while Nathi steps into Ovee’s world and grows close to Lena, the winery manager played by Thando Thabethe. Directed by Amanda Lane and written by Amanda Lane, Darryl Bristow-Bovey and Zelipa Zulu, the South African romantic comedy arrives on Netflix

This is Not a Nollywood Movie

Okechukwu, a struggling director from Nnewi, moves to Lagos with his loyal friend, convinced that an imagined Oscar win will jumpstart his career. A hopeful comeback quickly spirals into chaos when bad decisions and a shady loan from a gangster throw everything off track.

Written and directed by Wale Ojo and produced alongside Boma Akpore, the film stars Bimbo Akintola, Hanks Anuku, Broda Shaggi, Julius Agwu, Chidi Mokeme, and Olumide Oworu. The action comedy will be available in cinemas nationwide.

Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within 

Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within tells the story of orphaned children in Uganda’s Masaka region who find joy and hope through dance and music. The film shows their daily lives, school, chores, and rehearsals, and how friendship and performance help them heal and dream big. Directed by David Vieira Lopez and Moses Bwayo, and produced by Archewell Productions, Campfire Studios, and Wontanara Productions, the 40-minute documentary film will premiere on Netflix.

Behind the Scenes

Aderonke “Ronky-Fella” Faniran is a successful real‑estate mogul and mother whose generosity starts to take a toll on her life. As people around her take advantage of her kindness, she must face the pressures and challenges that come with success, family, and trust. A Very Dirty Christmas

A Very Dirty Christmas follows a family gathering that quickly turns messy. Instead of a calm holiday, old issues come up, secrets are exposed, and everyone ends up in one problem or another. A normal Christmas turns into a loud, chaotic celebration filled with fights and surprises. The film stars Ini Edo, Lateef Adedimeji, IK Ogbonna, Nancy Isime, Eucharia Anunobi, Femi Branch, Wumi Toriola, and Taye Arimoro, and is directed by Akay Mason and produced by Minini Empire, with the team aiming to deliver a fun and dramatic holiday story.

How To Ruin Love: The Lobola

How To Ruin Love: The Lobola picks up after the events of the previous part of the franchise. The story follows a couple Zoleka (Sivenathi Mabuya-Bukani) and Kagiso (Bohang Moeko) as their families begin arrangements for traditional lobola and wedding plans, leading to complications. Directed by Zolani Phakade and Ferry Jele, with Rethabile Ramaphakela, Katleho Ramaphakela, and Tshepo Ramaphakela as executive producers. The cast also includes Zola Nombona, Marjorie Langa, John Morapama, Shoki Mmola, Sello Ramolahloane, Tina Jaxa, Dumisani Mbebe, Thabo Malema, and Ayanda Daweti. The South African film is set to premiere on Netflix. 

Oversabi Aunty

Toyin Abraham makes her directorial debut with Oversabi Aunty, starring herself alongside Mike Ezuruonye, Jemima Osunde, Tana Adelana, Queen Nwokoye, Efe Irele, and Ngozi Ezeonu. She plays a self-righteous aunt whose obsession with “fixing” everyone’s affairs turns a family wedding into chaotic, hilarious situations. The film hits cinemas nationwide on December 19, with an advance screening on December 18.

Colours of Fire

A warrior is sent to hunt a beast unleashed by a rival clan, but along the way, he uncovers a hidden truth and a forbidden connection that challenges duty, loyalty, and honour. The film stars Osas Ighodaro, Uzor Arukwe, Mercy Aigbe, Femi Branch, and Gabriel Afolayan. Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and co-produced by FilmOne and Anthill Studios. Wizkid: Long Live Lagos follows the journey of Nigerian superstar Wizkid, from his early days in Surulere, Lagos, to his rise as a global Afrobeats icon. The documentary features behind-the-scenes footage, live performances, and interviews with close collaborators and industry figures, highlighting his influence on music worldwide. The film, which premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, will be available on Showmax.

The Covenant

A family is thrown into chaos when a brother is kidnapped. They must face dangerous forces and hidden secrets to survive and find justice. The cast features Gideon Okeke, Sola Sobowale, Zubby Michael, Segun Arinze, Ivie Okujaye, Uzee Usman, Bimbo Manuel, Chioma Okafor, Walter Anga and Joseph Momodu. Set in KwaZulu‑Natal, iThonga tells the story of twin brothers, Banele and Sanele Magwaza, both played by Bonko Khoza. One brother lives an honest life, while the other becomes involved in crime and betrayal. The South African series shows their struggles with family, secrets, and a dangerous world shaped by crime. The series started airing in March 2025 on Mzansi Magic and will now be available on Showmax.

Batman film series

Directed by Tim Burton, Batman (1989) stars Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, who becomes Batman to protect Gotham from the Joker (Jack Nicholson) while keeping reporter Vicki Vale safe. Batman Returns (1992) continues with Keaton facing Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) and The Penguin (Danny DeVito) during a dark holiday season. Batman Forever (1995) introduces Val Kilmer as Batman, who teams up with Dick Grayson as Robin to stop Two-Face and The Riddler. Batman & Robin (1997) follows George Clooney’s Batman and Robin confronting Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy to protect the city.

Downton Abbey: A New Era

Directed by Simon Curtis, Downton Abbey: A New Era continues the story of the Crawley family, now in 1928. The matriarch reveals she has inherited a villa in the south of France, and so the family travels there to uncover the secret of its origin. Meanwhile, back home, a film crew arrives at their estate to shoot a movie, shaking up the household. Key cast members include Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Maggie Smith, and Elizabeth McGovern. The period film will be available on Showmax. 

Novocaine

Directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, written by Lars Jacobson, Novocaine stars Jack Quaid as Nathan “Nate” Caine, a bank employee who cannot feel pain, and Amber Midthunder as his coworker Sherry Margrave, a woman he loves. When a gang robs the bank and kidnaps Sherry, Nate uses his unique condition to fight back and rescue her. Also starring Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, and Jacob Batalon in supporting roles. The comedy drama was released in cinemas March 2024 and will now be available to stream on Showmax. 

Snow White and the Huntsman

In this version of the fairy tale, a cruel queen named Ravenna (Charlize Theron) murders the king to seize the throne and imprisons his daughter, Snow White (Kristen Stewart) Ravenna fears that Snow White is destined to take her beauty and power, so she sends a huntsman to capture her. The huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) turns protector, and together with a band of rebels, Snow White fights to overthrow the queen. In the end, the wicked queen is defeated and Snow White becomes queen of the realm. Follow the hunt on Showmax. 

Troll 2

A giant troll rises and threatens Norway, and a team of experts must stop it. Palaeontology professor Nora Tidemann, played by Ine Marie Wilmann, teams up with political adviser Andreas Isaksen, played by Kim S. Falck-Jørgensen, Major Kristoffer “Kris” Holm, played by Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, and a new member, Marion, played by Sara Khorami. Directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Espen Aukan, with producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud, the monster action streams on Netflix.

Oh. What. Fun. 

Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Claire Clauster, a mom left behind when her husband Denis Leary and their kids, including Felicity Jones and Chloë Grace Moretz, head off for Christmas. Feeling left out, Claire sets off on her own adventure. Along the way, she meets friends and family played by Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, Danielle Brooks, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, and Joan Chen. Premieres on Prime Video. 

December 4

Megamind

A 2010 animated superhero comedy about a brilliant alien supervillain who finally defeats his heroic rival but quickly discovers life as “top villain” isn’t what he expected. Voiced by Will Ferrell, the blue‑skinned Megamind spends much of his youth overshadowed and bullied until he becomes powerful enough to conquer his nemesis. When that nemesis (Metro Man, voiced by Brad Pitt) is gone, Megamind loses purpose. He kidnaps reporter Roxanne Ritchi (voiced by Tina Fey) and tries to rule the city, but eventually he has to face a new villain he created. Watch it on Showmax. 

Monsters vs Aliens

Monsters vs. Aliens (2009) follows a woman who, on her wedding day, is hit by a meteorite that transforms her into a giant. The government recruits her and a group of oddball “monsters” to fight an alien invasion aiming to destroy Earth. Among the voice cast are Reese Witherspoon and Seth Rogen, Rob Letterman, Paul Rudd, John Krasinski, Renee Zellweger, Kiefer Sutherland. The animated sci-fi comedy will stream on Showmax. 

Sing

Set in a world of anthropomorphic animals, Sing follows a koala named Buster Moon, voiced by Matthew McConaughey, who runs a struggling theatre and organises a singing competition to save it. Contestants include a pig voiced by Reese Witherspoon, a mouse voiced by Seth MacFarlane, an elephant voiced by Tori Kelly, a porcupine voiced by Scarlett Johansson, and a gorilla voiced by Taron Egerton. The Boss Baby: Family Business

Years after the events of the first film, Tim Templeton (voiced by James Marsden) is now an adult with two daughters. His baby‑brother Ted Jr. (voiced by Alec Baldwin) becomes involved again when the younger daughter, Tina, reveals she’s part of the “Baby Corp.” Ted and Tim must team up, using a formula that turns them back into babies, to stop a threat to children everywhere. The Lego Batman Movie

The Lego Batman Movie (2017) turns the dark hero of Gotham into a blocky, comedic LEGO character. Jay Kelly

Directed by Noah Baumbach and co-written with Emily Mortimer, George Clooney stars as Jay Kelly, a once‑famous actor on a European trip with his manager Ron, played by Adam Sandler. The drama comedy premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in August 2025, screened in select theatres November 14, 2025, and will now be available on Netflix.

The New Yorker at 100

The 2025 documentary, directed by Marshall Curry and narrated by Julianne Moore, gives an inside look at the workings of The New Yorker magazine as it marks its centennial. The film follows the staff, editors, writers, fact‑checkers, cartoonists, as they prepare the 100th‑anniversary issue, It premiered at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival in August 2025 and will now be available on Netflix.

Karate Kid: Legends

Karate Kid: Legends (2025) tells the story of Li Fong (Ben Wang), a young kung‑fu prodigy who moves from Beijing to New York with his mother. In his new city, Li befriends a pizzeria owner and his daughter, but things go wrong after he attracts the attention of a local karate champion. To defend himself, Li enters a karate tournament. His kung‑fu teacher, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) and sensei Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) team up to train Li, helping him combine kung fu and karate for the final showdown. Jurassic Park Franchise

Merv

Merv centers on Anna and Russ, a couple who broke up but share custody of their beloved dog, Merv. When Merv becomes depressed after their separation, Russ decides to take him on a beach holiday to Florida. Anna unexpectedly joins, and as they work to cheer up their dog, the two begin to reconnect and reconsider their relationship. The film stars Zooey Deschanel as Anna and Charlie Cox as Russ, with Chris Redd, Patricia Heaton. Coming to Prime Video.

Dìdi

Dìdi tells the story of a 13‑year‑old boy, Chris Wang, living in Fremont, California, with his immigrant mother, grandmother, and older sister. He feels out of place and tries to find social acceptance by making silly YouTube videos, and later by pretending to be “half‑Asian” to fit in with a group of older skateboarders. His attempts lead to betrayal of trust and conflict with his family. By the end, Chris learns something important about honesty, self‑respect and family. Streaming on Showmax. 

Home

When an alien race called the Boov invades Earth and moves most humans far away. A teenage girl named Tip (Rihanna) manages to avoid capture. She meets Oh, a Boov who does not want to follow the orders of his race. Together, Tip and Oh travel to find Tip’s mother. Along the way, they deal with danger from both aliens and Boov forces. Hop

E.B., the son of the Easter Bunny, does not want to take over his father’s job. E.B. wants to be a drummer instead. Their lives become tangled as E.B. hides with Fred, and trouble brews at the Easter Bunny’s candy factory when a chick named Carlos plots a takeover. I Am Ali

The 2014 documentary takes viewers into the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. The film uses personal audio recordings made by Ali in the 1970s, plus interviews with his family, friends, and other boxers, including George Foreman and Mike Tyson, alongside archival footage. Coming to Showmax. 

Jonah: A Veggietales Movie

Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie reimagines the biblical story of the prophet Jonah using talking vegetables. The movie begins when Bob the Tomato and Dad Asparagus drive a van of Veggie kids to a concert, but crash on the way. While waiting for help, they meet a group of pirates who tell them the story of Jonah. In that story, Jonah (portrayed as a vegetable) runs from a message from God, ends up swallowed by a great whale, and then is given a second chance to deliver the message to the city of Nineveh. Man Vs Baby

Trevor Bingley, played by Rowan Atkinson, faces a chaotic holiday when he has to take care of a baby while looking after a fancy London apartment. Between diaper disasters and trying to protect expensive artwork, he gets into all sorts of messy and hilarious situations. The comedy also stars Alanah Bloor and Claudie Blakley and will be available on Netflix. 

Mr. Peabody & Sherman

2014 animated science‑fiction comedy follows Mr. Peabody, a genius talking dog, and his adopted son Sherman as they travel through history with the WABAC machine. Sherman accidentally disrupts time while trying to impress a classmate, and Mr. Peabody must fix history. Ty Burrell voices Mr. Peabody, Max Charles is Sherman, Ariel Winter plays Penny Peterson, with Stephen Colbert and Leslie Mann in supporting roles. Streaming on Showmax. 

The Prince of Egypt 

Released in 1998, this animated musical drama tells the story of Moses, raised as an Egyptian prince, who leads the Hebrews out of Egypt. Goodbye June

Four adult siblings are forced to reunite when their mother suffers a sudden health crisis just before Christmas. Waiting to Exhale

Waiting to Exhale follows four Black women in Phoenix, Savannah, Bernadine, Gloria, and Robin, as they try to balance love, self-worth, and the search for emotional security. Each woman faces her own heartbreak and healing while supporting one another through broken marriages, complicated affairs, and the courage to start over. Friday

Friday, starring Ice Cube as Craig Jones and Chris Tucker as Smokey, plus Nia Long, Tiny “Zeus” Lister Jr., Regina King, Bernie Mac, John Witherspoon and others. The story follows two friends in South Central Los Angeles, Craig and Smokey, who face a short, chaotic Friday after Smokey rakes up debt with a drug dealer. The cult‑classic will be available on Showmax. 

Horrible Bosses 1-2

Nick Hendricks, Dale Arbus, and Kurt Buckman are driven to desperation by their abusive bosses. Nick is denied a promotion by Dave Harken, Dale is harassed by Dr. Julia Harris, and Kurt is stuck under a cruel, drug-addicted new owner,  leading them to plot murder with the help of a shady ex-con in Horrible Bosses, starring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, and Donald Sutherland. Ride Along (2014) centers on Ben Barber, a security guard played by Kevin Hart, who joins his girlfriend’s police-officer brother James Payton, played by Ice Cube, on a 24-hour patrol to prove he deserves her hand in marriage, and their time together draws them into James’s pursuit of a dangerous arms dealer; the sequel Ride Along 2 (2016) continues the story with Ben and James traveling to Miami to take down a drug ring led by a businessman, bringing back Kevin Hart and Ice Cube and adding Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter and others to the cast.

A Quiet Place: Day One

Will Sawyer, a former FBI agent played by Dwayne Johnson, must save his family from a burning skyscraper in Hong Kong after terrorists set the building on fire. The Bourne Identity Franchise 

 The Bourne series begins with The Bourne Identity (2002), where Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne, a former CIA assassin with memory loss, tries to understand who he is while being pursued. The story continues in The Bourne Supremacy, with Bourne pulled back into conflict after being framed for a CIA incident, and in The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), as his search for answers about his past pushes him toward the people behind the program that created him. The series then shifts in The Bourne Legacy (2012) to Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross, another black-ops agent affected by the events set off by Bourne, joined by Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, and others.

The Great Flood

A massive flood floods the entire planet, trapping a researcher and her young son inside a towering apartment building being swallowed whole by rising water. The researcher Kim Da‑mi plays An‑na, while security officer Park Hae‑soo portrays Hee‑jo, a man sent to escort them to safety. Written and directed by Kim Byung‑woo (with co‑writer Han Ji‑su), and produced under Hwansang Studios. The Great Flood premiered at the 2025 Busan International Film Festival, ahead of its global release on Netflix.

Dolittle features Dr. John Dolittle, played by Robert Downey Jr., a physician who can talk to animals. When the young Queen Victoria falls gravely ill, Dolittle and his crew of talking animals set out on a journey to a mystical island in search of a cure. They must care for an alien baby called the Pupa, which will one day change the planet, while dealing with life on Earth.
