Nollywood Movies Available to Watch In June 2026

Surviving Biafra

Directed by Meji Alabi, BBC Documentary Surviving Biafra traces the Nigerian Civil War through intimate eyewitness testimonies and rare archival footage, with Alabi also interviewing his grandfather, a former army commando, in a personal attempt to preserve fading memories of the conflict before they are lost to time. Available to watch on BBC iPlayer and YouTube.

My Father’s Shadow

Akinola Davies Jr.‘s award-winning My Father’s Shadow follows a father and his two young sons navigating Lagos during the tense period around the 1993 Nigerian elections, with Sope Dirisu leading a cast that includes Godwin Chiemerie Egbo and Chibuike Marvellous Egbo. Following its AMVCA wins and ahead of June 12 Democracy Day, the film returns to Nigerian cinemas for a limited two-week run across Lagos, Ibadan, Akure and Benin City. 

June 12 

Ìwé Àlà

Set during the vibrant Ojúdè Ọba festival, Ìwé Àlà tells a story of family drama, culture and humour. Directed by Adeoluwa Owu (Adire) with a cast that includes Mercy Aigbe, Owobo Ogunde and Dele Odule. Coming to cinemas nationwide. 

On Different Grounds

Directed by Mildred Okwo (La Femme Anjola) and produced by Nicolette Ndigwe-Kalu, On Different Grounds is a romantic ensemble drama starring Jennifer Eliogu, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Uche Jombo, Ebele Okaro, Nkem Owoh, Abena Akuaba and Uche Montana, following a divorced couple whose reunion at their daughter’s wedding unravels long-buried emotions and family tensions. On Different Grounds is set to premiere in cinemas.

Kalakiri 

Kalakiri: The Price of Freedom follows a pro-democracy activist who disappears just ahead of a presidential nomination, only for it to emerge later that he has been detained at Kalakiri, a remote island prison. Starring Nancy Isime, Charles Okocha, Segun Arinze, Caleb Richards, Kalakiri premieres in cinemas 

June 19

Blood Debt

Written and directed by Chukwuka ‘Chukysmiles’ Ndife in his feature debut and starring Jide Kene Achufusi, Segun Arinze, Norbert Young, Uzoamaka Power and Ebele Okaro, Blood Debt centres on a young man caught in a cycle of inherited violence and moral consequence as past actions return to demand repayment. Distributed by FilmOne, Blood Debt premieres in cinemas. 

June 26

King Of Thieves (Agesinkólé)

King Of Thieves (Agesinkólé) follows a feared bandit who launches attacks on the kingdom of Ajeromi, throwing the land into chaos and forcing the people and warriors to rise against him. Starring Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Ibrahim Chatta and Lateef Adedimeji, the Yoruba epic is directed by Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo. It was released in cinemas on April 8, 2022 and is set to be available on Netflix.

Remi and Nneoma

Remi and Nneoma reimagines the biblical story of Ruth and Naomi through a contemporary Nigerian lens, centring faith, healing and female resilience. Directed by Lyndsey Efejuku and produced by Bikiya Graham-Douglas, the film stars Bisola Aiyeola, Liz Benson Ameye, Uche Montana, Ifeanyi Kalu, Tina Mba, Kelechi Udegbe and Bucci Franklin. Available to watch in cinemas.

Nollywood TV Shows Available to Watch In June 2026

Hallelujah

Set within the towering walls of Divine Cross Ministry, Hallelujah, starring Uzor Arukwe, Bolaji Ogunmola, follows Pastor Solomon and his wife, Dupe, as they maintain an image of power, perfection, and spiritual authority until a hidden secret begins to fracture everything they’ve built. Directed by Daniel Oriahi, episodes 9-13 are now streaming on EbonyLifeONPlus.

June 5

Blood Sisters S2

Directed by Kayode Kasum and Daniel Oriahi, EbonyLife Studios’ crime thriller returns as Sarah and Kemi continue to face the fallout of Kola Ademola’s death, with the Ademola family closing in and now law enforcement on the case. Ini Dima-Okojie and Nancy Isime reprise their roles alongside new and returning cast members, including Michelle Dede, Kate Henshaw, Kehinde Bankole, Gabriel Afolayan, Bolaji Ogunmola, Blessing Jessica Obasi-Nze and Genoveva Umeh, as new threats push the sisters deeper into danger and survival mode. Clarence Peters’ Scratch

Clarence Peters’ new series Scratch follows five housemates from broken homes hiding their realities behind smiles. The five-episode drama written by Olumide Kuti stars Hauwa ‘Nananikeji’ Issa, Favour Etim, Celia Okechukwu, Mofehintola Jebutu and Anthony Sunmola. Watch it on YouTube. 

The Polygamist

Netflix’s 22-episode South African drama The Polygamist, adapted from Sue Nyathi’s novel, follows Jonasi Gomora, a wealthy CEO whose family life unravels as secrets, betrayal and competing relationships threaten his empire, with Gugu Gumede and Sdumo Mtshali leading a cast that includes Kenneth Nkosi, Celeste Ntuli and S’thandiwe Kgoroge, and directed by Akin Omotoso, Rolie Nikiwe and Nthabi Tau.

Masters of the Universe 

Directed by Travis Knight, He-Man returns in this live-action reboot set on Eternia, where Prince Adam must embrace his destiny to battle Skeletor and save his world. The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, with Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn and Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress. Office Romance

Jennifer Lopez stars as Jackie Cruz, a powerful CEO whose strict workplace rules are tested when she falls for a new company lawyer played by Brett Goldstein. The Netflix romantic comedy also features Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, Bradley Whitford, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Jodie Whittaker, Rick Hoffman, Mary Wiseman, Jackie Sandler and Will Sasso in an ensemble workplace story.

Disclosure Day

Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi drama follows a world shaken when evidence of extraterrestrial life forces governments, scientists and ordinary people into a global reckoning over truth and control. The film stars Emily Blunt as a Kansas City meteorologist drawn into the mystery, alongside Josh O’Connor as a young cybersecurity expert, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo, with Wyatt Russell also part of the ensemble cast. I am Frankelda

I Am Frankelda follows a gifted young writer trapped between reality and the haunting stories in her notebook as strange creatures begin to creep into her world. Directed by Arturo and Roy Ambriz with voices from Mireya Mendoza, Luis Leonardo Suárez and Arturo Mercado Jr., the stop-motion fantasy, which is said to be Mexico’s first feature-length stop-motion film, will be available on Netflix. 

Maternal Instinct

The true-crime documentary set to premiere on Netflix examines the chilling 2020 Texas case of Taylor Parker, a woman whose fabricated pregnancy spiralled into a brutal crime involving deception, violence, and a shocking attempt to pass off a stolen newborn as her own. 

The Last Song

A coming-of-age romance about a rebellious teenager forced to spend the summer with her estranged father in a small beach town, where music helps rebuild their fractured relationship while she experiences first love and personal growth. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth lead the film alongside Greg Kinnear, with Julie Anne Robinson directing the Nicholas Sparks adaptation. The 2010 romance drama will be available on Netflix.

Godzilla vs Kong

Two legendary Titans head into a destructive showdown as Kong searches for a new home while Godzilla tears through cities across the world. Finding Forrester

Per Apsera Ad Astra

Directed by Han Yan, the Chinese sci-fi psychological film follows a young man drawn into a futuristic virtual world where the boundaries between memory, dreams, and reality begin to disappear, forcing him to confront both emotional trauma and questions about human connection. Starring Dylan Wang and Victoria Song, with Zu Feng, Luo Haiqiong, and Wang Duo in supporting roles, the film was initially released on February 17 and will now be available on Netflix. 

June 19

Color Book 

After losing his wife, a father takes a trip with his young son with Down syndrome, and the journey becomes about learning to adjust to a new rhythm of life. David Fortune directs, starring William Catlett, Jeremiah Daniels, Brandee Evans and Terri J. Vaughn. Watch it on Netflix. 

Husbands in Action

A drug squad detective is forced to team up with his ex-wife’s new husband after a criminal group kidnaps her. Starring Jin Sun-kyu, Gong Myoung and Kim Ji-seok, the pair set out on a chaotic rescue mission despite their differences. The South Korean comedy drama will premiere on Netflix. 

Toy Story 5

Pixar’s next chapter in the Toy Story universe brings Woody, Buzz and Jessie back together as their world is shaken by a new generation of tech-driven toys that challenge the meaning of play, with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack returning alongside Greta Lee as the voice of the disruptive tablet character Lilypad. Toy Story 5 will be available in cinemas nationwide. 

The Contractor 

Directed by Tarik Saleh, The Contractor follows a former U.S. Special Forces sergeant who is forced into the private sector after being discharged, taking a contract job overseas that quickly turns into a dangerous fight for survival. Starring Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Kiefer Sutherland, the action drama streams on Netflix 

Voicemails for Isabelle

A grieving woman starts leaving hilarious voice messages for her late sister as a way to cope, but the messages reach a stranger and lead to an unexpected connection between their lives. Directed by Leah McKendrick, Zoey Deutch stars alongside Nick Robinson, Nick Offerman and Harry Shum Jr. Available to watch on Netflix.

Elvis 

Baz Luhrmann retells the rise of Elvis Presley through the complicated relationship between the music icon and his longtime manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Led by Austin Butler and Tom Hanks alongside Olivia DeJonge and Kelvin Harrison Jr., the film will be available on Netflix

In the Hand of Dante

In the Hand of Dante, from director Julian Schnabel, follows a violent journey through crime, obsession and forbidden love inspired by Dante Alighieri’s literary world. The Netflix film stars Oscar Isaac, Martin Scorsese, Gal Gadot, Gerard Butler, Al Pacino and Jason Momoa in a mystery thriller adapted from Nick Tosches’ novel.

Little Brother

Matt Spicer’s Little Brother pairs John Cena and Eric André in a chaotic comedy about family, disruption and second chances alongside Michelle Monaghan, Christopher Meloni, Caleb Hearon and Sherry Cola. Streaming on Netflix 

Supergirl 

Supergirl follows Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) on a cosmic revenge mission after a brutal tragedy changes her path.
