Dammy Twitch’s feature directorial debut, Call of My Life, has now boldly made its way to the top ten highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time at number ten, as well as becoming the highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026 so far.
With distribution by FilmOne Entertainment, the Bluhouse-produced project opened with 78.2 million naira in its first weekend, grossing 392 million naira after three weekends at the cinemas.
The total earnings at the box office stand tall as the highest-grossing Nollywood film of the year so far, earning 434 million naira and outperforming expectations for a contemporary romance title released within a packed period of May.
This milestone is particularly significant for Bluhouse Studios as Call of My Life is only the studio’s second theatrical outing, following Freedom Way in 2025. The romcom has become the studio’s highest-grossing title to date and is tracking towards one of the highest-grossing romantic comedies in Nollywood history, surpassing genre benchmarks such as The Wedding Party 2 (433 million naira).

This achievement is one that arrives at a time when Nollywood’s box office has largely been driven by projects backed by star actor-producer pairings, a trend visible across most films currently occupying the top ten.
Call of My Life’s unprecedented success can be attributed to a less traditional marketing strategy deployed right from the announcement of the project in February up until now. With its charismatic leads front and centre in collective and in visual marketing ploys, audiences have found it hard to resist the beckoning charm of the romantic comedy.
In our review, Ini-Abasi Jeffrey describes Call of My Life as a film that “dials into the Nigerian romcom canon with heart and familiarity,” noting that its strength lies less in originality and more in execution. While the film comfortably leans into well-worn romantic comedy tropes, it does so with a sincerity that makes the experience engaging rather than repetitive.
Speaking in a recent I Said What I Said episode, Blessing Uzzi, producer of Call of My Life and founder of Bluhouse Studios, admitted to having funding challenges that threatened to disrupt the project. However, she was undeterred and proceeded to move forward with the project, which was filmed late last year.
The theatrical release campaign also benefited from Dammy Twitch’s existing digital audience. Before moving into feature filmmaking, Twitch built a reputation through music videos and commercials, giving the film access to audiences beyond traditional Nollywood circles, including a meet and greet with artistes like Davido, Chike, Zlatan and Tiwa Savage.
Written by and starring Uzoamaka Power alongside Andrew Yaw Bunting, Zubby Michael, Beverly Osu, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Broda Shaggi and Justin ‘UG’ Ugonna, the film follows Soluchi, a call centre agent dealing with a breakup when an unexpected phone call leads her to Eli.
Call of My Life is still showing in cinemas nationwide and is expected to hit UK cinemas from June 26.
