Unveiling She Writes Lab 2024: Empowering and Celebrating African Female Storytellers in Filmmaking

We are thrilled to announce the launch of SheWrites Intensive Lab, an exciting initiative aimed at empowering and celebrating African female storytellers in filmmaking. We invite aspiring writers to embark on a transformative journey of storytelling excellence.

The three-week program is designed to nurture and refine creative first-draft scripts into compelling and inspiring stories.

This Year’s Focus:

The spotlight shines on short film scripts that center around compelling and inspiring female characters. Six talented female storytellers will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with three story consultants and three mentors, receiving tailored guidance and invaluable insights to elevate their storytelling craft.

What to Expect:

Refined Stories: Participants will upgrade their drafts, refining them into better and more compelling narratives.

Pitch Opportunities: Writers will have the chance to pitch their scripts to industry players, opening doors to potential collaborations and opportunities.

Exclusive Resources: Each participant will receive a free one-year license for the latest Final Draft 13 software, empowering them with cutting-edge tools for screenwriting.

Production Grant: Participants will also have the opportunity to access a production grant of up to $1000* to produce their screenplay, turning their vision into reality.

Seize the opportunity to reveal your creativity to the world and join us on this exhilarating journey of storytelling excellence.
