A Mama Deola Wedding Story brings Folagade Banks’ popular Mama Deola character from his comedy skits, with Demilola and Femi’s wedding at its centre. Confusion Na Wa
Kenneth Gyang’s dark comedy follows a group of strangers whose lives become connected over the course of 24 hours. The trouble begins when Charles and Chichi find a misplaced phone and decide to use its contents to blackmail its owner, Emeka, setting off a chain of events neither of them can control. Edward Uka’s Nne Mgbafor is a historical epic inspired by the warrior traditions of Ohafia in Abia State. Starring Femi Branch, Zubby Michael and Sam Dede, the film follows a woman who challenges tradition and fights to change the destiny of her people. Distributed by Blue Pictures, it opens in Nigerian cinemas.
Properties of the Gods
Following an eight-year hiatus, Joseph Okechukwu returns to filmmaking with a historical drama centred on the Igbo Osu caste system, asking questions about inherited identity, forbidden love and family loyalty. Starring Pete Edochie, Enyinna Nwigwe, Maria Chike Benjamin, Zack Orji, Hilda Dokubo, Elvina Ibru, Linc Edochie, Jennifer Eliogu and the late Onyeka Onwenu in one of her final screen performances. Ajosepo follows Dapo and Tani as they prepare for their wedding, only for a compromising discovery involving Dapo’s father and Tani’s aunt to threaten the ceremony. Dapo and his brother Jide are forced to work together to keep the situation from turning into a family scandal, leading to a series of increasingly complicated encounters. Directed by Kayode Kasum, the 2024 comedy-drama stars Timini Egbuson, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe, Ibrahim Yekini, Ronke Oshodi Oke and Bolaji Ogunmola, among others. Ajosepo 2: The Gathering returns to the families from Ajosepo two years after Dapo and Tani’s wedding. This time, the focus shifts to Jide and Mary, whose own wedding brings the extended families together again. Kayode Kasum returns as director, with Bolaji Ogunmola and Feyifunmi Oginni among the producers. Timini Egbuson and Bolaji Ogunmola lead the sequel as Jide and Mary, joined by Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe, Yemi Solade, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Odunlade Adekola and Toyin Abraham. The sequel was released in cinemas in May 2026 and will now be available to stream on Kava.
