Nollywood Movies Available to Watch In March 2025

March 7

Cartel

Produced by Elvis Chucks, upcoming thriller Cartel, just as you would guess, features drug trafficking, intense action, power struggles, and betrayal, boasting of a studded cast that includes Bolanle Ninalowo, Broda Shaggi, Clarion Chukwurah, Rosemary Zimu, Eniola Badmus, Chika Ike, and Nkechi Blessing. Cartel was shot by award-winning cinematographer Lance Gewer and will be in cinemas nationwide.

Gone

Gone is a thrilling mystery drama about love, sacrifice, and betrayal from MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) West Africa Class of 2024. Written by Winner Achimugu and directed by Anjola Aluko and Omotola Oke Tbasz, the film follows Damola Akinola (Paul Nnadiekwe), whose life is shattered on his 25th birthday when a skeleton is found in his family’s soakaway. The film also stars Tolu Odewumi, Teniola Aladese, Kelechi Udegbe, Martha Ehinome, Rotimi Adelegan, and Kate Adepegba.

Debuts at 5:30 PM on Africa Magic Showcase, with a repeat airing on March 8th at 7:00 PM on Africa Magic Family.

Suky

Born into a legendary Dambe boxing family, Suky’s fate takes a brutal turn when he lands in Ajah Prison, where survival depends on his fists. Directed by Ola Cardoso, this action drama stars Tobi Bakre, Femi Adebayo, Bimbo Ademoye, and more. Produced by Filmbank Productions and Nemsiah Studios, Suky will be available on Prime Video

March 8

Everything Light Touches

MultiChoice Talent Factory debuts Everything Light Touches, a coming-of-age drama about an autistic chess prodigy navigating loss and survival. Directed by Elma Baisie and Adejo “Story Priest” Emmanuel, the film premieres on Africa Magic Showcase at 5:30 PM and Africa Magic Family on March 12, 2025, at 9:00 PM.

Produced by Myde Glover and Morenikeji Uka, Everything Light Touches stars Eric Emeka, Tope Olowoniyan, and Ibrahim Suleiman, a story about gifted teen drawn into an underground chess tournament after tragedy strikes.

Finding Me

Funke Akindele is set to expand her filmography with Finding Me, a new film produced under her company, The Funke Akindele Network (FAAN). Though plot details remain undisclosed, the movie has already built anticipation with its studded cast, featuring Femi Adebayo, Joseph Benjamin, Shaffy Bello, Omoni Oboli, Omowunmi Dada, Sharon Ooja, Efe Iwara, Tina Mba, Dele Odule, Abdulgafar Abiola (The Cute Abiola), and Emeka Nwagbaraocha. Finding me will stream on Prime video.

I AM ANIS

Based on a true story, Biodun Stephen’s I Am Anis follows Anisola Williams, whose perfect day suddenly falls apart, revealing secrets from her past that she can no longer ignore.

The film features Shaffy Bello, Tina Mba, Charles Inojie, Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni), and more. Written by Mannie Oiseomaye and Biodun Stephen, who also produces the film, I Am Anis will premiere exclusively on Circuits. 

The Artifact

The Artifact is an upcoming adventure film directed by Tolu Awobiyi aka Tolu Lord Tanner, it follows four friends on a high-stakes journey across multiple Nigerian states to recover precious stones from an ancient artifact while being pursued by powerful forces.

Featuring Adeoluwa Akintoba, Callitus Akunaeziri Godspower Nwogwugwu, Ovy Godwin, Sharon Rotimi, Miracle Iyanda, Kunle Remi, Gabriel Afolayan,, Bimbo Manuel, and Okey Uzoeshi. 

Cursed Bonds

Cursed Bonds is a joint project between Nigeria and Liberia. It brings together actors from both countries, including Zubby Michael and Omowunmi Dada from Nigeria, along with Victor Padmore and Grace Weah from Liberia. The film premiered on February 13, 2025, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Monrovia, Liberia and will be in cinemas in Nigeria. 

GO!

South Africa’s GO! is a young adult drama set in Johannesburg, The series follows Siya “Bolt” Gumede, a gifted sprinter who earns a scholarship to the prestigious St. Judes private school. However, his journey is far from smooth—torn between his past and his future, Bolt must navigate fierce competition, personal betrayals, and family pressures. Available on Netflix. 

March 28

Labake Olododo

Described as a blend of drama, love, and cultural exploration, Labake Olododo, directed by Biodun Stephen and produced by Iyabo Ojo tells the story of Labake (Iyabo Ojo), a fearless warrior who challenges societal norms in her relentless pursuit of justice, facing trials that test her resilience, beliefs, and sense of duty. Starring Mercy Aigbe, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Fathia Balogun, Broda Shaggi, Muka Ray, Wumi Toriola. 

The Masked King

The Masked King is an upcoming period drama set to premiere in cinemas nationwide. Directed by Uduak-Obong Patrick and produced by Francis Ohazulike and Joshua Cassidy, the film explores themes of power, identity, and redemption against the backdrop of 19th-century Nigeria.

Starring Daniel Etim Effiong, Shaffy Bello, Uche Montana, Gideon Okeke, Segun Arinze, Uzor Arukwe.

Tales of Ramadan 

Set in Northern Nigeria, the six-part series follows different characters as they navigate life during the holy month of Ramadan. Starring Uzee Usman, Ummi Baba Ahmed, Ijapari Ben-Hirki, and Adam Garba, Tales of Ramadan will air for six weeks on major networks, including Zee World, Africa Magic, and NTA.

March 6

Between Worlds

Between Worlds is a 10-part Showmax Original fantasy series rooted in Yoruba mythology. It follows Olamide (Awe Ayobami), a fraudster who is mysteriously transported to Ilu Aarin, a powerful kingdom ruled by King Oba Ajitoni (Femi Branch). Guided by Esu (Soibifaa Dokubo), Olamide gets entangled in palace intrigues and supernatural forces. Meanwhile, undercover detective Ifetomiwa (Taiwo Ola) investigates a case linked to this mystical realm.

Created by Emmanuel Uduma and directed by Edward Uka, Tyrone Terrence, and Sola Roberts, the series blends fantasy and Yoruba heritage.

Grind S2

Grind season two sees Tarela still fighting to survive in the unforgiving streets of Lagos. This season, she faces even tougher choices, bigger ambitions, and the pressures that come with chasing a better life.Produced by The Clan Production Studios, with Josh Olaoluwa and Roberta Orioma. Grind Season 2 stars Eso Dike, Daniel Abua, Rosanne Chikwendu with direction from Orire Nwani and Joshua Tso-Tso. Coming to Prime Video.

I Think I Still Love You

Dide (Bobby Ogbulu) and Hauwa (Adunolaoluwa Osilowo) thought breaking up would bring them closure, but sharing a home after the split proves otherwise. With their Lagos apartment lease still binding them together, they navigate the awkwardness of cohabitation, the weight of unspoken words, and the emotions they can’t seem to shake.

Baby Farm

Produced by Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife, the series tells the story of Adanna, a pregnant woman who unknowingly entrusts her unborn twins to an NGO, only to discover she has fallen into the clutches of a sinister baby farm. Trapped in a web of deceit, she must navigate the horrors of the operation, run by the ruthless Doctor Oliver Evans and his wife, in a desperate fight for survival. Directed by Kayode Kasum and Walter ‘Waltbanger’ Taylaur, the series stars Rita Dominic, Onyinye Odokoro, Joseph Benjamin, Genoveva Umeh, Langley Kirkwood, and Jenny Stead. Available to watch on Netflix for African subscribers.

It Ends With Us 

Based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same name, 2024 drama It Ends With Us follows Lily Bloom (Blake Lively), a young woman who moves to Boston to start fresh and open a flower shop. She meets and falls for Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni), a charming but emotionally complex neurosurgeon. However, their relationship takes a dark turn when Ryle’s violent tendencies emerge, forcing Lily to confront her past, especially when her first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Skylenar), reappears in her life.

Directed by Justin Baldoni, It Ends With Us will be available to stream on Netflix and Showmax.

March 3

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Kong is exploring the Hollow Earth, looking for others of his kind, while Godzilla continues to protect the world from dangerous Titans. When a mysterious signal leads a team of scientists to uncover ancient secrets, Kong and Godzilla must team up to stop a new threat, the powerful Skar King. The film explores more of Kong’s backstory, adding new depth to the MonsterVerse.

The 2024 monster film is coming to Showmax.

Drive-Away Dolls

Drive-Away Dolls is a 2024 crime comedy about Jamie (Margaret Qualley) and Marian (Geraldine Viswanathan), two friends who end up on a road trip to Tallahassee after a breakup. They accidentally get involved with criminals after taking stolen goods, leading to a series of misadventures. The film mixes crime and comedy, with a fun dynamic between the lead characters. Coming to Showmax. 

March 7

Mickey 17

Mickey 17 is a sci-fi thriller from Parasite director Bong Joon Ho, starring Robert Pattinson. Based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7, the film follows an “expendable” worker sent to colonize an ice planet, only to face complications when a new clone is created while he’s still alive. The cast includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. After multiple delays, Mickey 17 is set for release in cinemas worldwide. 

March 13

Heretic

Co-directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, Heretic follows two Mormon missionaries (Sophie Thatcher as Sister Barnes and Chloe East as Sister Paxton), who encounter Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant), a man more dangerous than he appears. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024, and was released in U.S. theaters on November 8, 2024. The horror film is coming to Showmax. 

March 14

Novocaine

In Novocaine, Jack Quaid is Nathan Caine, a bank executive who can’t feel physical pain. When his girlfriend, Shari (Amber Midthunder), is taken hostage during a robbery, Nathan uses his condition to help rescue her. The cast also includes Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, Betty Gabriel, and Matt Walsh. Watch it in cinemas nationwide. 

Black Bag

Steven Soderbergh’s spy thriller stars Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender as a married couple, both intelligence agents. When Kathryn is suspected of betrayal, her husband George faces a tough choice between loyalty to her and his country. The film also features Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Marisa Abela, and Pierce Brosnan.

The Electric State

Set in a retro-futuristic version of the 1990s, The Electric State is a sci-fi adventure directed by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame), starring Millie Bobby Brown as Michelle, a teenage girl searching for her missing brother in a strange, futuristic version of the 1990s. She teams up with a smuggler named Keats (Chris Pratt) and a quirky robot companion.

Streaming on Netflix. 

In The Lost Lands

Based on a short story by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, In The Lost Lands follows sorceress Gray Alys (Mila Jovovich), who is hired by a desperate queen to journey into the treacherous Lost Lands in search of the power of shapeshifting. Accompanied by the warrior Boyce (Dave Bautista), Alys must navigate a world filled with danger, deception, and supernatural forces that could consume them both. Available in cinemas nationwide. 

March 18

The Outrun

Saoirse Ronan (Little Women) plays a recovering alcoholic who returns to the Orkney Islands after years of reckless living in London. As she reconnects with her homeland, she confronts painful childhood memories and struggles to find a path to healing and self-acceptance. The film premiered at 2024 Sundance Film Festival and will be available on Netflix. 

March 20

Abigail

The 2024 horror-comedy film follows a group of criminals who kidnap a 12-year-old girl named Abigail, the daughter of a powerful crime boss, in hopes of getting a large ransom. However, things take a dark turn when they realize Abigail has a terrifying secret that changes everything. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the film stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Alisha Weir, and others. Watch this on Showmax. 

March 21

Snow White

Directed by Marc Webb, Disney’s live-action Snow White stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) as the Evil Queen. This reimagined version of the classic 1937 animated movie brings a fresh take on the fairy tale with a modern twist and diverse cast. 

A fun time for the kids when it releases in cinemas. 

Last Breath

Last Breath is a survival thriller directed by Alex Parkinson. Based on a true story from 2012, the film follows Chris Lemons, a deep-sea diver who gets trapped 300 feet below the North Sea after his oxygen supply is cut off. Finn Cole plays Chris, with Woody Harrelson as Duncan Allcock and Simu Liu as Dave Yuasa, two divers who try to rescue him.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes takes viewers back to Panem decades before Katniss Everdeen’s rise. This prequel follows a young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) as he mentors Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from District 12, in the 10th Hunger Games. As alliances form and power shifts, Snow’s choices shape his path to becoming the ruthless president of Panem.Also starring Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, and Viola Davis. Coming to Showmax. 

March 27

Holland

Holland is a thriller film directed by Mimi Cave. It stars Nicole Kidman as Nancy, a woman who starts suspecting her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen, of living a secret life. As she investigates, she uncovers shocking truths. The film also features Gael García Bernal, Rachel Sennott, and Jude Hill. It will premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in March 2025 and will be available on Prime Video. 

March 28

A Working Man

Directed by David Ayer, A Working Man stars Jason Statham as Levon Cade, a former Royal Marine who gets caught up in a dangerous conspiracy while trying to find his boss’s kidnapped daughter. Other actors in the movie include David Harbour, Michael Peña, and Jason Flemyng. The story is based on a 2014 novel called “Levon’s Trade” by Chuck Dixon, and the screenplay was written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone.

March 31

Venom: The Last Dance

Directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom: The Last Dance is the final movie in the Venom series. Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock, who, alongside the alien symbiote Venom, faces new challenges, including a dangerous military officer and the powerful symbiote god, Knull. The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, and Rhys Ifans. An action packed conclusion to the film series, available to watch on Showmax.

With Love, Meghan

Hosted by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, With Love, Meghan reimagines lifestyle programming by combining hands-on tutorials with engaging conversations featuring Meghan’s close friends and notable guests, including Mindy Kaling, chef Roy Choi, Suits alum Abigail Spencer, culinary icon Alice Waters, and makeup artist Daniel Martin. Prince Harry is also expected to make an appearance. The series covers topics like cooking, gardening, and crafting, emphasizing a relaxed and playful approach to everyday activities. All 8 episodes will be released on Netflix.

Beauty in Black Part 2

Following the dramatic Part 1 cliffhanger, Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black Part Two is set to bring even more intense drama, shocking betrayals, and high-stakes power moves as Kimmie transforms from a struggling dancer to a force of vengeance against the family behind a trafficking ring. Mr Robot S1-4

Mr. Robot, a psychological thriller that follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) a brilliant but socially anxious cybersecurity engineer who moonlights as a vigilante hacker. Recruited by the mysterious Mr. Robot and his underground group, fsociety, Elliot becomes entangled in a high-stakes cyberwar against the world’s most powerful corporation. March 13

Adolescence

Adolescence is an upcoming psychological drama that follows the story of 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), who is arrested for allegedly murdering a classmate. Despite the authorities discovering video evidence against him, Jamie insists he is innocent. The series takes us into his troubled mind through the perspectives of his father Eddie (Stephen Graham), psychologist Briony Ariston (Erin Doherty), and Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe (Ashley Walters). 

The four-part drama is set to premiere on Netflix. 

March 20

The Residence

Netflix’s The Residence brings a murder mystery to the White House. Produced by Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, the show follows Detective Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba) as she investigates the murder of White House Chief Usher A.B. Wynter (Giancarlo Esposito) during a state dinner. 

Inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book, the series features Susan Kelechi Watson, Jason Lee, Jane Curtin, Ken Marino, and a special cameo by Kylie Minogue.

March 25

Gangs of London S3

Season 3 sees Elliot Carter (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù) fully entrenched in London’s underworld, facing chaos after a spiked cocaine shipment kills hundreds, triggering brutal gang wars. Returning cast includes Joe Cole, Michelle Fairley, and Lucian Msamati, with new additions like Andrew Koji and T’Nia Miller. The new season will be available on Showmax.
