Kayode Kasum, Dare Olaitan to Reunite for Film Trybe’s Musical, ‘Obara M’

Just weeks after the news about a horror film titled Ilé Owó (House of Money), frequent collaborators Kayode Kasum (Soólè) and Dare E. Olaitan (Dwindle) are set to reunite in Film Trybe and Singularity Media’s latest production, Obara M (My Blood).

As opposed to Ilé Owó in which Dare Olaitan directs and Kayode Kasum serves as the producer, roles have been reversed this time in Obara M, as we have Kayode Kasum taking the director’s chair and Dare Olaitan receives the baton of the producer, in a story written by Stephen Okonkwo (Soole).

Although the official logline is yet to be revealed, the poster depicts a strong message of a young girl with a graveyard in her head and a musical band on her head; which partly give hints of a twisted musical, with music direction and design credited to Rodney Abia and Angelo Anosike.

Other images with little details on the production shared on social platforms have us puzzled still. Alongside the artwork of the production by Iyebiye Adeitan popularly known as Kaizen Kreativ, a packed cast list has also been revealed and it includes Nancy Isime (Superstar), Nkem Owoh (Chief Daddy 2), Onyeka Onwenu (Lionheart), Deyemi Okanlawon (Swallow), Bolanle Ninalowo (Breaded Life), Sydney Egere, a comedian popularly known as SydneyTalker, Onyebuchi Ojieh also known as Buchi Comedian, Bolaji Ogunmola (Progressive Tailor’s Club), Gold Ikponmwosa (One Lagos Night), William Benson (Silenced), Florence Okechukwu (Open Secret), Preach Bassey (AMRiona), TikTok influencer Ikekhua Anthonia, and introducing Oluwadarasimi Nadi.

No release date has been shared, as production begins. Obara M is set to be supported by Kuda Microfinance Bank.
