Trailer: Ini Dima-Okojie, Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kate Henshaw in Dramatic-Thriller Four-Part Series ‘Blood Sisters’

Since the release of Chief Daddy 2 on new year’s day, Netflix has released a trailer for EbonyLife-produced dramatic crime-thriller, Blood Sisters, a four-part mini-series directed by Biyi Bandele (Half of a Yellow Sun) and Kenneth Gyang (Confusion Na Wa).

The “pulsating limited series” stars Ini Dima-Okojie (Namaste Wahala), Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlawon (Swallow) and  Daniel Etim Effiong (Happiness Ever After) reunite after their recent outing in Akay Mason’s Superstar. Joining them are Genoveva Umeh (One Lagos Night) Kate Henshaw (Chief Daddy 2), Uche Jombo (Special Jollof), Gabriel Afolayan (For Maria Ebun Pataki), Kehinde Bankole (The Set Up), Ramsey Nouah, Ibrahim Suleiman (Up North), Segun Arinze, Joke Silva (Chief Daddy 2), Wale Ojo, Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey, Toke Makinwa, Okey Uzoeshi and Maurice Sam (My Best Friend’s Wedding).

Produced by Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Studios, Blood Sisters is set to tell the story of two friends Sarah (Inidima Okojie) and Kemi (Nancy Isime) who find themselves in a difficult situation as Sarah is being forced into a marriage with a charming but abusive man (Deyemi Okanlawon). From the released trailer, the union seems to be a binding force for some ulterior personal interests of the couple’s parents who appear quite powerful in the society, in a lavishly organised ceremony. Everything goes down hill when the two friends are involved in an accidential murder and then the race for survival begins.

Blood Sisters was directed by Biyi Bandele, who recently completed shooting on the production of Death and the King’s Horseman, another Netflix-EbonyLife project; and Kenneth Gyang, known for Confusion Na Wa, The Lost Cafe and most recently Òlòtūré which is also one of EbonyLife Studio’s productions in conjunction with Netflix.

Blood Sisters will premiere on Netflix on May 5, 2022.
