With the release of an official poster, the wait for Loukman Ali’s crime-action Brotherhood has yet been extended. Brotherhood, which is set to tell the story of twin brothers on opposite sides of the law in an emotionally-grounded story exploring familiar themes like the bonds of family, betrayal and love, will move from its original July 8 date to September 23, 2022
Produced by Jade Osiberu under GreoH Studios, Brotherhood wrapped up shooting in mid-May and is currently in post production. It will feature a good blend of actors from the likes of multi-versatile TV host, comedian and music producer Basketmouth (Papa Benji), OC Ukeje (The Arbitration), Tobi Bakre (The Blood Covenant), Zubby Michael (Omo Ghetto: The Saga), Falz (Quam’s Money), Sam Dede (Gone), Ronke Oshodi Oke, Toni Tones (KOB 2), Jidekene Achufusi (Living In Bondage), Mercy Aigbe (Swallow), Deyemi Okanlawon (Blood Sisters), Mr Macaroni (Ayinla), and Omawunmi, to Big Brother Naija stars, Dorathy Bachor (The Perfect Arrangement), Diane Russet (Ricordi), Seyi Awolowo (The Perfect Arrangement) and Boma Akpofure.
Loukman Ali shot to fame after his feature debut, a mystery thriller he also produced, The Girl in the Yellow Jumper, the first Ugandan film to be picked up by Netflix. Led by Jade Osiberu, GreoH Studios tapped Loukman in April to direct this pan-African production that has hired crew members from West Africa to East Africa and Southern Africa. In a previous statement by Loukman on the scale of this unique collaboration, he said, “This is the beginning of many firsts for African cinema. We are taking risks and hope to excel. The Nigerian audience and Africans at large should expect a Nollywood high stakes crime-action thriller like never before.”
The premiere of Brotherhood later this year promises to be a large-scale event that has never been seen before in the industry, which would be held at key locations across the country, leveraging on the stellar cast to deliver an exciting experience across locations.
GreoH Studios is behind critically-acclaimed films like Ayinla and Isoken and the commercially successful Sugar Rush. Another anticipated project from GreoH is Gangs of Lagos directed by Jade Osiberu, starring Tobi Bakre, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, and Chike.
Brotherhood will be distributed by Genesis Pictures and has bagged new brand partnerships with Fearless and Trophy Lager.
Brotherhood premieres in cinemas on September 23.
